New York gives you more opportunities to meet women than almost anywhere else. The problem is that having more opportunities does not help if you keep hesitating, your conversations stall, or you are not sure how to turn an interaction into a date.

The best dating coaching is not more information. It is having an experienced coach identify what is actually limiting your results, watch what happens when you put the advice into practice, and correct the problem before it becomes another habit.

That is how we coach at Cold Approach. In New York, you can work with us three ways:

  • Intensive in-person Bootcamps
  • Ongoing Mentorship
  • Individual 1-on-1 coaching calls

Which one you choose depends on how much support you want.

If you are searching for a dating coach in NYC, you have probably noticed that most coaches show a long list of testimonials and no prices. This page does the opposite. It sorts what the different kinds of coaching are, gives you the questions to ask before you pay anyone, and states what ours costs.

What separates great dating coaching from more dating advice

The coach diagnoses your actual bottleneck

You may think your problem is what to say when the real issue is that you rarely approach. You may blame your conversations when you are actually failing to move good interactions forward.

Good coaching starts with what is happening in your dating life rather than forcing every client through the same prescription.

You get feedback on what you actually do

There is a major difference between understanding dating advice intellectually and executing it with a woman you are attracted to. The closer the feedback is to the real interaction, the faster you can see what needs to change.

The coaching adapts as you improve

Solving approach anxiety may reveal a conversation problem. Fixing conversation may reveal a flirting problem. Getting numbers may reveal a texting problem.

The right coach keeps finding the next constraint instead of repeatedly solving yesterday's problem.

The coach has seen your problem before

Experienced coaches learn to recognize what is going wrong from working with many different men. That matters because the fastest improvement often comes from recognizing the mistake you cannot yet see yourself.

Questions to ask a New York dating coach before you pay

In a city this size, there are a lot of people who will take your money for dating help. Some are good. The difference shows up when you ask specific questions, and a good coach is glad to answer them.

  • Where will the coaching happen? In the field beside you, in a classroom or office, or over a video call are three different products. The price should match the format, and you should know which one you are buying before you pay.
  • How many students share the coach? If the coach is split across a group, your share of his feedback shrinks. Ask for the exact number. At Cold Approach, a Group Bootcamp has at most three students per coach, and a Private Bootcamp has one.
  • What does a day or a session actually contain? You want the hours, what you will be doing in them, and when the feedback arrives. "Intensive" alone is not an answer.
  • What do you leave with? A written plan, a community, a recording, a follow-up. Ask which are included and which are extra.
  • What is the whole price? If you can only learn it after a long sales conversation, the price is being used to filter you, not to inform you.
  • What happens if your plans change? Ask about rescheduling and refunds, and get the answer in writing, not on a call.
  • What does the coach refuse to promise? Nobody can promise you a girlfriend or a number of dates. A coach who does is guessing. What a Dating Coach Should Never Promise lists the promises worth walking away from.
  • Does the coaching fit your schedule? In New York, many men work long days. Ask how many hours a training day runs and whether you can choose the dates.

How to read a dating coach's reviews

Reviews are where most men start, and also where they get misled. A few ways to read them with care:

  • Look for what happened, not how the writer felt. "This changed my life" says nothing about the coaching. A review that says the coach watched him approach, spotted that he apologized in his first sentence, and that he stopped, tells you what you would be paying for.
  • Ask whether reviews describe what happened in the field. A review that names what the coach saw and what changed is worth more than one that only praises.
  • Read the lukewarm ones first. A three-star review usually says what the coaching does not do, and that is the part to learn before you buy.
  • Watch for sameness. Real clients talk about different things. If every review praises the same two phrases, treat the page as marketing.
  • Match the review to your problem. A man who needed help starting conversations says little about whether a coach can fix your texting or your first dates.

Want the fastest in-person feedback? Train with us in New York

You can understand exactly what you should do and still hesitate when a woman you genuinely want to meet walks past you.

That gap between knowing and doing is why we run our New York Bootcamp in the real world.

A Bootcamp has you go out with a Cold Approach coach and work on your actual interactions. The Group Bootcamp runs three days. A Private Bootcamp runs one, two or three days, with a coach working only with you. Instead of going home wondering what went wrong, you get feedback while the experience is still fresh and then another opportunity to apply it.

We work on the entire progression:

  • Approaching consistently
  • Creating attraction
  • Moving interactions forward
  • Getting contact information
  • Turning opportunities into dates
BootcampPriceCoach attention
Group$3,000Up to three students per coach
Private$4,000One coach focused entirely on you for all three days

A shorter Private Bootcamp costs less: $1,750 for one day and $3,000 for two days. Longer private programs are available on request.

If you learn fastest by doing rather than watching more dating content, this is where I would start.

How the Bootcamp is arranged in New York

New York works differently from Miami. The scheduled Group weekends are in Miami. In New York, Group coaching is available on request, and a Private Bootcamp is arranged with you after you book. You choose one, two or three days when you buy, the dates are worked out with you by email after you book, and your coach then sets the exact times with you.

Each day you book has two four-hour blocks, so plan to make the full eight training hours available on every day you choose. Dating Bootcamp in New York City explains the arrangement in more detail.

Where the coaching happens, by day and by night

Each training day has two four-hour blocks in the field. By day that is daygame: starting conversations with women on the street and in cafes. After dark it is nightgame: the same thing in bars and lounges. Your coach decides the balance by looking at what you most need to work on, and he coaches live on each approach, then reviews every set with you.

The Bootcamp does not follow a published route, and your coach sets the plan with you after you book. To get a feel for the city as a man on foot, these articles describe it the way any visitor finds it:

New to the city, or busy in it

Two situations come up often in New York. One has just arrived and does not yet know where anyone goes. How to Meet Women in New York If You Are New to the City is written for him. The other has lived here for years and works long hours in finance or tech, with a calendar that leaves no room for guessing. Dating Coaching for Finance and Tech Professionals in New York covers how the coaching fits that week.

Both men have the same problem in common: plenty of chances, and no one watching how they use them.

You are not learning from one coaching style

Dating problems rarely stay in one category. You might need help approaching now, flirting next, and converting dates later.

Matthew Stevens and his team of coaches cover daygame, nightgame, conversation, attraction, texting, online dating, and relationships, with complementary specialties across the team.

That means the goal is not to force your problem into one coach's favorite framework. It is to identify what is holding you back and bring the right expertise to it.

Matthew Stevens, a Co-Founder and Head Coach, has coached game for more than half a decade.

Which type of coaching is right for you?

You do not necessarily need the biggest program. You need the level of feedback that matches what you are trying to change.

  • Bootcamp: if you want intensive in-person training. Spend one to three days working with a coach in New York and getting feedback on real interactions.
  • Mentorship: if you want ongoing improvement. Work with a coach every week, bring back what happened in your approaches, conversations, texts, and dates, and keep working on the next thing limiting your results.
  • 1-on-1 Call: if you have one specific problem. If there is a particular interaction, texting situation, date, or recurring sticking point you want a coach to examine, start with a single call.
  • The Complete Dating System: if you want to start on your own. Get the underlying system first and move into coaching when you want personalized feedback.

Not sure which one fits? Apply for coaching. We'll look at where you are now, what you want to change, and which option makes the most sense.

What a dating coach costs in New York

Most New York coaches keep their prices off the page, which makes comparing them hard. Here are the prices for our coaching programs:

  • Group Bootcamp: $3,000 for three days, up to three students per coach. In New York, Group is available on request.
  • Private Bootcamp: $1,750 for one day, $3,000 for two days, $4,000 for three days. Arranged after you book. Longer private programs are available on request.
  • Infield Filming: $350, an optional add-on. A coach films you approaching for one hour, then goes through the footage with you set by set.
  • 1-on-1 Calls: $250 a call, online.
  • Mentorship: $1,500 for one month, $4,250 for three months, $8,000 for six months of ongoing coaching online.
  • The Complete Dating System: $497, self-paced.

Think about price per hour of a coach's attention, not the headline number. A one-hour call at $250 is the right size for a single stuck situation, like a text thread or a date you cannot read. A Private Bootcamp day gives you eight hours with one coach in the field for $1,750. A Group Bootcamp is $3,000 for three days of live correction, with the coach shared across at most three men. Mentorship spreads the work across weeks, which suits a man who wants steady feedback more than one big push.

How Much Does a Dating Coach Cost? goes through what each level buys. If you are unsure whether to pay for in-person training at all, Is In-Person Dating Coaching Worth the Money? lays out the case, and What Does a Dating Coach Do in the Field? shows what the money is paying for.

Prefer to start by learning the system yourself?

The Complete Dating System is the self-paced option. For $497, you get the framework across approach anxiety, daygame, nightgame, online dating, dates, social circle, and relationships.

It is designed for men who want to learn independently. If you want someone diagnosing your specific interactions and correcting you personally, choose coaching instead.

Not sure where your dating life is actually breaking down?

That is what the application call is for.

Tell us where you are now, what you want your dating life to look like, and what you have already tried. We will help determine where the biggest gap is and whether one of our programs makes sense for you.

You may need intensive in-person training. You may be better suited to ongoing mentorship. Or you may only need a focused 1-on-1 call.

Common questions

Do I have to travel for the Bootcamp?

We run it in New York and Miami, so if you live in New York you train in the city where you already meet women. Mentorship and 1-on-1 Calls run online, wherever you are.

What if I only want one conversation with a coach?

A 1-on-1 Call has no fixed schedule. You book one when you want a coach to look at a specific approach, a text conversation, or a date that went nowhere.

How much does a dating coach in NYC cost?

With us, a Private Bootcamp is $1,750 for one day, $3,000 for two days or $4,000 for three, and Group is $3,000 for three days. Online, a 1-on-1 Call is $250 and Mentorship starts at $1,500 for a month. The full list is above.

Is there a dating coach near me?

For in-person coaching, the Bootcamp runs in New York and Miami. Anywhere else, Mentorship and 1-on-1 Calls are online, and Is There a Dating Bootcamp Near Me? covers what to do if you live outside both cities. If you live in or near New York, you can train in the city itself.

Are there published Group dates in New York?

No. The scheduled Group weekends are in Miami. In New York, Group coaching is available on request, and a Private Bootcamp is arranged with you after you book.

Can a Bootcamp fit around a full-time job?

Private dates are arranged with you, so you can pick days that suit your work. Plan to make the full eight training hours available on each day you book. Your coach sets the exact times with you.

Do I need experience approaching women before a Bootcamp?

No. Beginners are welcome. The men who lock up before they walk over are who the Bootcamp is for, and your coach starts from where you are.

Are dating coaches in New York worth it?

It depends on what you buy and whether you use it. A coach who watches you approach and corrects what he sees speeds things up. A program you never open does not. Are Dating Coaches Legit? goes through the tests, and Dating Coach or Matchmaker: Which One Fits Which Man? helps if you are weighing a different kind of help.

You can keep trying to diagnose this yourself. Or you can have a coach look at it with you.

New York gives you an enormous number of opportunities to meet women. If you are consistently letting those opportunities pass, getting stuck in the same kinds of conversations, or wondering why your dating life is not moving as quickly as you want, more time does not automatically solve the problem.

Apply to Cold Approach and tell us what is happening. We will look at where you are now, where you want to get to, and which level of coaching makes sense.

No obligation. We will tell you which program fits rather than assuming you need the most expensive option.
