In New York, Group coaching is available on request, since no Group weekend is published here. A Private Bootcamp is arranged with you after booking, over three consecutive days. The sessions fit around a working week: training on weekdays begins in the evening, and weekend sessions start in the afternoon. Men search for daygame NYC, cold approach NYC or a pickup artist in New York, and what they usually want is a coach standing next to them in the field while they approach women.
How a New York Bootcamp is arranged
Cold Approach runs its Bootcamp in exactly three US cities: New York, Miami and Chicago. The scheduled Group weekends are in Miami, so New York works differently.
After you book a Private Bootcamp, everything is handled by email. You and the team settle the city and the dates, then a short intro call with your coach comes before the three days, and he sets the exact times with you.
Group is a small group: three students at most share a coach, and each of them is still coached on his own approaches. Private means your coach works only with you, day after day.
What the searches really ask for
Typing "daygame NYC" means you want to learn to start conversations with women during the day. Typing "pickup artist NYC" usually means you want someone to teach you a skill, whatever the word is. We would put it simply: this is coaching, built around reading her and her saying yes.
Daygame is approaching women by day, on the street and in cafes. Nightgame is the same thing after dark, in bars and lounges. Two four-hour sessions fill each day, and together the three days hold 24 hours of in-person coaching, with the coach tilting the balance toward whichever kind you need more of.
Every approach is coached while it happens, and every set is reviewed afterward. Nobody is handing you a script.
A walking city on a subway that never stops
What follows describes New York for anyone who walks it. It is not a map of where the Bootcamp goes, and your own schedule gets set with you after booking.
New York is a walking city, and going on foot is the best way to learn its neighborhoods. The subway runs around the clock, so a late night out does not strand you.
Neighborhoods by day
SoHo is one of the city's main shopping districts, known for luxury boutiques and independent designer shops. The sidewalks along Broadway and Prince and Spring Streets are often crowded.
Washington Square Park is the heart of Greenwich Village and a meeting place known for its street performers. The West Village is known for its cobblestone streets, and because it sits outside Manhattan's grid, it is easy to wander on foot. Union Square Park is a spot for people watching, with a greenmarket along two sides. Bryant Park is a public park in Midtown, between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue.
Neighborhoods by night
The Lower East Side is a popular nightlife area. The East Village is known for dining and nightlife, and the Meatpacking District for its clubs and stylish restaurants. Across the river, Williamsburg in Brooklyn is one of the city's most exciting nightlife neighborhoods, with indie music, gallery shows and shops run by local artisans.
What a dating coach teaches about New York
a dating coach calls New York his favorite city for learning, mostly because the supply of strangers is close to endless. If you talk to a stranger and it goes badly, you will probably never see her again, and it is soon forgotten.
He also warns about the street: many people are walking with headphones in, or are packed into crowds where it is hard to reach anyone. For daytime he leans toward parks, and his reason is simple. Someone who came out to sit in a park came out to be among people.
That is a good test for any approach, anywhere. Read her first. If she is busy, hurried or plainly not interested, you let her go. If she is relaxed and open, you can say hello.
The seasons
Summers are typically hot and humid. Winters are chilly and damp. Spring and autumn are usually mild.
If you are arranging a Private Bootcamp, these are worth mentioning to your coach when you settle the days. A Bootcamp can also be rescheduled one time, to a later date, if you let us know early enough.
What you take home
You leave with a short written plan for practice, based on what your coach saw, so you know what to keep, what to fix and where to put your effort next. The private community Slack is yours to keep after the three days, with your coach adding you to it.
