It is worth it for a man who will do the practice, and not worth it for one who will not. Nobody can walk up to a woman for you. What someone beside you can do is watch you try, spot the mistake you keep making and correct it on the spot. If you have been approaching alone for a long time and are stuck in the same place, that is often the fastest way out.
The same question appears as "are dating coaches worth it" and "dating coach worth it reddit". Reddit is full of opinions, and most of them skip the one fact that decides it: what you are paying for and whether you will use it.
What you are paying for
Information is cheap. Books, videos and forums are free or close to it. What costs money is someone else's attention on your real behavior.
In person, that means a coach standing beside you while you talk to women. He sees your first thirty seconds, your voice, where you put your hands and how you leave. A video cannot see you. A book cannot tell you that you looked at the ground.
a dating coach has said that sometimes a major mistake in the field can be fixed with one comment. You cannot find that mistake alone, because you are inside it.
Where it pays off when you want to meet women in person
You have tried alone and stalled. If you have read the books and gone out a few times without improving, a coach can find the specific habit holding you back.
You lock up. Approach anxiety is hard to shake alone, because nothing makes you walk over. A coach beside you, with a plan for your first approach, changes that.
You want faster feedback. a dating coach names the number one reason men stay slow: they spend years watching videos and reading forums and never go out. A coach turns reading into reps.
You value your time. Years of trial and error cost something too. A concentrated few days with feedback on every set can compress a lot of learning.
Where it does not pay off
You will not go out. If you will not do the approaches yourself, no coach can do them for you. The reps are yours.
You want a result promised. No honest coach controls how a woman responds, so none can promise a number of dates or a girlfriend. Be wary of anyone who does.
You need therapy, not coaching. A coach builds a skill. A therapist treats what is going on inside you. Coaching is not a substitute.
How to judge a program before you pay
Ask a few plain questions.
- Will a coach watch my real approaches, or will I practice alone?
- How many students does each coach have?
- How many hours are in the field, and how many in a room?
- What do I leave with?
- Does the program promise an outcome? Walk away if so.
For a Cold Approach Bootcamp, a coach coaches every approach as it happens. Group is three students to a coach at most, and Private is fully one-on-one. Each training day is two four-hour blocks in the field. You leave with a written practice plan and access to the community Slack. A follow-up call is not part of the package, and no results are promised.
Learning in person versus learning alone
A book or video is the lowest-cost way to learn what to do. It does not watch you do it.
A call with a coach can review what you tell him and what you describe. It is useful for texting, planning and mindset, and many men use calls and coaching together.
An in-person Bootcamp is where the skill gets built, because you are doing it with feedback in real time. Men often buy it first and continue into other coaching after.
A simple way to decide
Count how many women you spoke to last month. If it is a handful, you probably have the information and need the reps. If it is zero, you need someone next to you.
Ask also whether you will show up. A Bootcamp asks you to be out for two four-hour blocks a day, in Miami or New York, with a coach. If that sounds like a lot, it is, and that is where the value comes from.
