A men's dating workshop is a short class for a group of men. It usually runs a few hours, sometimes a full day or two. You get talk, questions and role-play about meeting women. It is one of four common formats, and the others are an online course, a 1-on-1 call and an in-field bootcamp.
If your problem is that you do not know what to do, a course or a workshop can fill the gap. If your problem is that you know what to do and still do not walk up to women, you need practice with someone watching, and that is what a bootcamp is. The formats overlap, so the right choice depends on what is stopping you.
This article sorts the formats by what each one trains, what it leaves out, how long it runs and what ColdApproach.io charges for its version, so you can match one to your problem.
What to know first
- A workshop teaches a group of men for a short stretch. Learning happens by listening and discussion.
- An online course gives you material to study at your own pace.
- A coaching call gives you a coach's view of a situation you describe.
- A bootcamp puts a coach beside you in the field while you approach women.
- ColdApproach.io does not run one-evening workshops. Its in-person program is the Bootcamp, and everything else is delivered online.
- The shortest Bootcamp is a one-day Private Bootcamp: eight hours in the field, in Miami or New York.
The four formats, side by side
Each format below is described the same way: what it trains, what it leaves out, how long it runs and what ColdApproach.io charges for its own version.
Workshop
- Trains: understanding and ideas. A good teacher can explain how a talk with a woman tends to go, what she notices and how to think about rejection.
- Leaves out: what you do when you are alone with a woman. Nobody in the room watches you.
- Length: usually a few hours, though schedules vary, so check before you book.
- At ColdApproach.io: there is no workshop. The nearest thing is the one-day Private Bootcamp below.
Online course
- Trains: knowledge, one lesson at a time, on your own schedule.
- Leaves out: your own habits in the moment. The only person watching your attempt is you.
- Length: as long as you take. You set the pace.
- At ColdApproach.io: the Complete Dating System is $497 once, with every module available immediately.
1-on-1 call
- Trains: insight into a situation you describe, such as a text exchange that went flat or a date that ended badly.
- Leaves out: what happened that you did not notice, because the coach works from what you tell him.
- Length: one 60-minute video session.
- At ColdApproach.io: 1-on-1 Calls are $250 for a single call, and packages go as low as $150 a call.
In-field bootcamp
- Trains: doing it, with live feedback from a coach who sees each set.
- Leaves out: the continuing review after the Bootcamp ends. The Bootcamp package includes no follow-up call.
- Length: one to three days of coaching, each with two four-hour blocks in the field.
- At ColdApproach.io: Group is three days for $3,000. Private is one day for $1,750, two days for $3,000 or three days for $4,000.
The "leaves out" line of each format is the one to read twice. A format that leaves something out is not a bad format. It leaves that piece for you to cover another way.
What a workshop session looks like
Workshops differ from one organizer to the next, but most follow the same shape. A teacher talks through a topic. The room asks questions. Men pair off for role-play, where one plays the man and one plays the woman. Some add a short stretch of practice with other people, though many do not. Then everyone goes home.
That shape suits ideas. You hear the concepts and meet other men who want the same thing.
Its limit is the one a room always has. You learn about the moment and are not in it. A fellow student is not a woman you have never met, in a street you do not know.
What a Bootcamp day looks like
Each training day has two four-hour blocks of real approaches. You do daygame on the street and in cafes by day, and nightgame in bars and lounges at night. The mix depends on what suits you.
Your coach watches each set and gives you feedback while you are still out. You use it on the next approach. Each day covers four parts as they come up. They are approaching and conversation, attraction and delivery, numbers and dates, and rejection and follow-through.
a dating coach explains why that matters: "A mentor or coach can save you YEARS of frustration and mistakes just by looking at you in action." For a fuller walk through the hours, see What Does a Typical Day of a Dating Bootcamp Look Like?
The shortest Bootcamp
If you want to try in-person coaching without a full weekend, start with a one-day Private Bootcamp. It is eight hours, split into two four-hour blocks, in Miami or New York. Your coach's attention is entirely on you. It costs $1,750.
You do not listen. You approach. Men who want more than one day can book two or three, and longer private programs are available on request. A Group Bootcamp is three days with no more than three students per coach. Group or Private explains which suits you.
Where a workshop or course fits
Information is useful when it is the missing piece. If you have never thought about how conversation moves from small talk to interest, how to text toward a date, or how online profiles work, a course gives you a map.
The Complete Dating System starts with Fundamentals for complete beginners and covers approaching, presentation, conversation, texting and dates. You can go straight to the area you want to improve.
A course has a built-in limit. You can finish every lesson and still not know what you look like when you walk up to a woman.
Where a call fits
A coaching call is a good tool for a problem you can describe: a text exchange that went flat, a date that ended badly, one situation you want a coach's read on. A coach can look at your screenshots in advance and send a written recap afterward. You book calls when you want them. The limitation is the same: the coach works from what you tell him. He is not there when you hesitate.
Where a bootcamp fits
A bootcamp is the right format when the problem happens out loud, in front of a woman. If you lock up, open and then run dry, or cannot tell when she is interested, you need a coach who can see it.
Beginners are welcome. No experience is required, and the men who lock up are who it is for. You leave with a short written practice plan and keep the community Slack afterward. See the Bootcamp page for the formats and public prices, or read about running it in Miami and New York City.
Where the Mentorship fits
The Mentorship is the online program for men who want a coach over time: weekly 60-minute 1-on-1 video calls, unlimited coach messaging and a group chat with the coaching team. It covers your whole dating life, including approaching women, texting, dating apps and dates.
It is delivered online. Some men pair it with the Bootcamp: the Bootcamp supplies the live correction, and the Mentorship supplies the continuing review.
If you want a coach in your city
ColdApproach.io runs its in-person Bootcamp in Miami and New York, and the two city articles lay out what to expect: Dating Coaches for Men in Miami and Best Dating Coaches for Men in New York. If you live somewhere else, read Is There a Dating Bootcamp Near Me?, and know that the Mentorship works from anywhere because it runs online.
How to choose
Ask which sentence describes you better.
- "I do not know what to do." Start with a course.
- "I know what to do and I have a specific problem." Start with a call.
- "I know what to do and I still do not do it, or I do it and it does not work." Start with a bootcamp.
- "I want a coach for months, not days." Look at the Mentorship.
If you are unsure, the Bootcamp is the format that tells you the most about yourself, because a coach sees the thing you cannot see. If the difference between a room and a field is still unclear, What Is the Difference Between a Dating Workshop and a Dating Bootcamp? goes through it in detail.
Questions men ask
What is a men's dating workshop?
It is a short, taught session for a group of men, mostly talk, questions and role-play about meeting and talking to women. Formats vary from one organizer to the next.
Is a bootcamp better than an online course?
They do different jobs. A course teaches and a bootcamp coaches practice. Many men need both, in whichever order matches their problem.
Is there a cold approach workshop I can attend for a few hours?
ColdApproach.io does not run one. The in-person program is the Bootcamp, and a Private Bootcamp can be as short as one day, which is eight hours.
Is a dating class the same as a dating workshop?
Mostly. Both sit you in a room or on a screen and teach you, and a class is often longer or spread over weeks. A bootcamp is different: it puts you in the field with a coach who corrects each approach while it is fresh. What Is the Difference Between a Dating Workshop and a Dating Bootcamp? covers that in detail.
How much do these formats cost at ColdApproach.io?
The Complete Dating System is $497 once. A 1-on-1 Call is $250, with packages down to $150 a call. A Group Bootcamp is $3,000 for three days, and a Private Bootcamp is $1,750, $3,000 or $4,000 for one, two or three days.
Can I do a bootcamp if I have never approached anyone?
Yes. No experience is required. See Can a Total Beginner Do a Dating Bootcamp?.
Will online coaching help me meet women in person?
It can help with how you think about it and how you text, and the Mentorship covers approaching. If the trouble is the moment of walking up, in-person practice adds something calls cannot. Group Bootcamp vs One-on-One Coaching compares them directly.
