Often you cannot, because Hily says its fees are generally non-refundable, including any unused time left on a subscription. If you paid through the App Store or Google Play, the request has to go to that store, not to Hily. On Android you have 48 hours after a subscription starts to contact Play Store support for a faster refund. If you bought on the web, write to Hily support at support@hily.com.
What Hily says about refunds
Start with Hily's own position, because it sets your expectations. Hily's fees are generally non-refundable. That includes the part of a subscription you have not used yet.
So cancelling halfway through a month does not usually get you half a month back. Knowing this before you ask saves you a frustrating back and forth.
Paid through Apple or Google
A purchase made through the App Store is billed by Apple, and Hily says charges made that way have to be raised with the store. So the request goes to Apple.
Use the Apple ID that was charged, find the Hily purchase, and ask for the refund through Apple's own process. Apple makes its own decision on each request.
A purchase made on Android is billed by Google Play, so the refund request goes to Google.
Timing matters most here. Hily points out that you have 48 hours after a subscription starts to contact Play Store support for a faster refund. If you subscribed by accident, or regretted it straight away, act inside that window. After it closes you are back to asking in the ordinary way, with a weaker case.
As with Apple, sign in with the Google account that actually paid. The purchase will not show under any other account.
Paid on the web: write to Hily support
A subscription or purchase made on Hily's website did not go through either store, so neither store can help. Write to Hily support at support@hily.com.
Keep in mind that Hily's general position still applies. Support can look at your case, but its fees are generally non-refundable, so a clear, honest reason gives you the best chance.
Cancel as well as asking
A refund request and a cancellation are two separate things. A refund is about money you have already paid. Cancelling stops the next charge, and nothing else does.
So do both. Cancel through the store you paid with, or through Hily support for a web subscription, at least 24 hours before the current term ends. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription. Skip the cancellation and you could win back one payment only to be charged again at renewal.
Find the purchase, then write a short message
Before you write to anyone, work out exactly what you are asking about. Find the receipt email for the charge. It shows which store billed you, which account paid, the date and the amount. Those details decide where your request goes and how fast anyone can act on it.
If you cannot find a receipt, check your Apple account, your Google account and your email for a web receipt from Hily. A charge you cannot trace to any of them may not be from Hily at all.
Whoever you are asking, keep it short and true.
Say what you bought, when, and why you want the money back. "I subscribed by mistake and cancelled within the hour" is easy to act on. A long complaint about the app is not. Have your receipt or order number to hand, and ask as soon as you can. A request made the day of the charge is far easier to explain than one made weeks later.
If the answer is no
Given Hily's position, a refusal is a real possibility. If it comes, make sure the subscription is cancelled so the charge cannot repeat, and let the rest go. Arguing the same case again and again rarely changes the answer, and your evenings are better spent on the app than on the dispute.
Pay with a plan next time
The best refund is the one you never need, and most regretted charges come from paying without a plan.
a dating coach is happy to pay for dating features. He thinks the reflex against ever paying is a mistake. What he warns against is paying blindly. His advice is to test a feature that is fairly cheap, see whether it clearly improves your results, and drop it if it does not.
So set the test up before you pay. Decide how long it will run, and count your matches, conversations and dates on the free plan first. Then count the same things while you are subscribed. Put the renewal date in your calendar with a reminder a couple of days ahead. If the paid weeks are clearly better, keep it. If they are not, cancel before it renews and you will never need to ask for a refund at all.
