Open Tinder's Settings and select Get Super Likes to buy them in packages. If you subscribe to Tinder Gold or Tinder Platinum, you also get free Super Likes every week, though those expire if you do not use them. Each Super Like tells Tinder to prioritize you for the woman you send it to, and you send one by tapping the blue star while you are looking at her.
Where to buy them
- Tap the profile icon.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Get Super Likes and choose a package.
To use one, open a woman's card and tap the blue star instead of swiping right.
Packages or a subscription
There are two ways to get Super Likes, and they suit different men.
A package is a one-off purchase. You buy it, you use the Super Likes on the women you pick, and there is no ongoing charge.
Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum both come with free Super Likes every week. The catch is that the weekly ones expire if you leave them unused. So they suit a man who is on the app most weeks and would use them anyway.
If Super Likes are the only thing you want, a small package is the smaller commitment. If you were already considering Gold or Platinum for other reasons, such as seeing who liked you, the weekly Super Likes simply come along with it.
What you are actually paying for
A Super Like buys priority, not a match. Tinder prioritizes you for that one woman, and she still decides, exactly as she would with an ordinary Like.
It also changes nothing about what she sees. Your photos and your words are exactly the same with a blue star on top. The star buys attention, not appeal.
a dating coach is openly skeptical of them. His worry is less about whether they work and more about what they say. A Super Like tells her you picked her out as special before you have exchanged a word. In his experience, that can start the conversation with her on a pedestal. A man who starts there usually has more work to do once they are talking. He has also seen clients who sent Super Likes to everyone come across as trying too hard.
That does not make them useless. It means they are worth sending rarely and deliberately, never in bulk.
Test a small package first
My general rule for anything you can pay for on a dating app is to try it once, cheaply, and let your results decide.
So start with the smallest package. Send each Super Like to a woman you genuinely want to meet, someone you would happily take on a date this week. Then keep a rough count. How many turned into matches? How many of those became real conversations, and how many became dates?
Send them at times when you can actually reply. A Super Like that turns into a match while you are stuck in meetings all day loses some of its point if she then waits hours to hear from you.
If a handful of Super Likes produced a date you would not otherwise have had, buy more. If they produced matches that went nowhere, you have learned something for very little, and you can stop there.
Who should not buy them yet
Super Likes multiply what is already working. They cannot create interest that is not there.
If ordinary Likes rarely turn into matches for you, a Super Like is unlikely to change that, because she is still looking at the same photos. Put your money and effort into your photos first. Lead with a clear shot of your face, add a few of you out doing things, and drop the sunglasses and the group shots where she has to guess which man is you. Once regular Likes start turning into matches, Super Likes have something to multiply.
Follow the star with a real message
A Super Like only earns its place if the first message is as deliberate as the swipe.
You told her she stood out. Now show her why, with something specific from her photos or her words, in a light and playful tone rather than a gushing one. Keep it short. A Super Like followed by a plain "hey" wastes the one advantage you paid for. A Super Like followed by a paragraph of compliments lifts her even higher on the pedestal coach warns about.
Aim to suggest a plan within the first few exchanges. The point of all of it, the packages, the stars and the messages, is a date with a woman you actually want to meet.
