Not in any way Tinder's help center describes. Its gift cards are described as giving or redeeming one month of Tinder Gold, and nothing it says covers a Platinum gift card. Platinum is bought by the person who will use it, inside the app, so the closest thing you can give is the Gold card.

What Tinder's gift cards cover

Tinder gift cards are sold in the US at tinder.com/giftcard. The help center describes each one as one month of Tinder Gold.

It does not describe a card for Platinum, and it does not describe a way to buy Platinum for another person's account. So if a seller, a forum post or a video tells you otherwise, treat it as unconfirmed. Do not hand over money for something Tinder itself has not described.

How Platinum is actually bought

The subscriber buys it himself. In the app, he taps the profile icon, goes to Settings, and chooses Get Tinder Platinum.

Tinder describes Platinum as everything in Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold, plus Priority Likes. A person who already subscribes can move between Plus, Gold and Platinum in the app. That changes the type of subscription but not its duration.

What you can give instead

If you want to help a friend toward Platinum, there are two honest routes.

The first is the Gold gift card, which is real and works in the US. Tinder says a card can only be redeemed when the person has no active subscription, so it suits a friend who is on the free version.

The second is to give him the money and let him buy Platinum himself, if that is what he wants. That is not as tidy as a card. It does leave the decision with the man who will live with the subscription.

Do not assume you can redeem a Gold card and then upgrade that month to Platinum. Tinder's pages describe the upgrade for subscribers, and they do not say how a gift card month behaves when you try it. Find that out from Tinder before you promise a friend anything.

What Platinum adds over Gold

Gold already gives weekly Super Likes, one Boost per month, and the ability to see who Likes You. The part Platinum adds is Priority Likes.

The name suggests your Likes are meant to be seen sooner than ordinary ones, though the pages I read do not spell out how. Treat it as a possible edge in a crowded city, not as a measured gain, and judge it by your own numbers after a month.

Is it worth it

a dating coach said from his own experience that Platinum was worth it when he tested it, and that Gold on its own had become less useful once Platinum existed. Take that for what it is: one man's report, not a promise about what it will do for another.

His rule is the one worth keeping. A paid feature multiplies results you already have. If a man gets a few matches without paying, a month of Platinum is a fair test. If he gets none, the money should go to what women see first when they open his page. A multiplier on zero is zero.

Test one month, write down your matches and conversations before and after, and cancel before it renews if the numbers did not move. Tinder says subscriptions renew until they are canceled.

If you are the one who wants it

If you are asking for yourself, because a friend offered to chip in, the cleanest path is the same. You buy it in the app, in your own name, and you cancel it in the same place you bought it.

Tinder says subscriptions renew automatically until they are canceled, and that deleting the app does not cancel one. A man who accepts a friend's money for a month of Platinum should be the one who sets the reminder to cancel. Otherwise the friend's gift quietly turns into the man's own recurring charge.

The short answer

You cannot gift Platinum through anything Tinder describes. Give a Gold card to a friend on the free version, or let him buy Platinum himself, and have him test it for one month with a before-and-after count.
