You are about to hand your dating apps to people you have not met, and the sensible question comes early: what happens if nothing comes of it.

It is a fair question and it deserves a straight answer rather than a paragraph of reassurance. The answer is that the promise here is more work, not your money back, and the reason for that is worth twenty seconds of your time before you decide whether it is the promise you want.

Section 01

What a refund actually gives you back

Money. That is the entire list.

Say you hand over the apps, six weeks go by, and nothing happens. A refund arrives. What you have now is the same amount of money you had at the start and six fewer weeks of your life, a dead profile, and the same problem you had when you started looking for help. Nobody has been on a date. The situation that made you look for this in the first place is untouched.

That is the shape of every money-back promise on a service. It protects the money and it does not protect the thing you were actually buying. And it quietly rewards the wrong behavior on our side, because a service that has your money back in its pocket has an exit from a hard client. Giving up becomes the cheap option.

Section 02

The promise instead

Your first date within a week, or we keep working.

That is the sentence and it means what it says. If the first week ends and there is no date on your calendar, the work carries on at no extra cost until there is one. Nobody hands anything back, nobody declares the engagement finished, and nobody sends you a summary of what was tried.

The remedy is more of our work. That is deliberate. It is the only remedy that ends with you sitting across from somebody, which is the outcome you came for.

Section 03

Why a week, and why one date

A week is short on purpose. It is long enough to build a photo set, rebuild the profile, run the apps daily, read the interest that comes in, and carry a few conversations to the point where an evening is a reasonable thing to suggest. It is too short to hide in. Any service can look busy for a month. Seven days does not leave room for looking busy.

One date, not a number of them, because one date is the thing that is actually in our hands. We run the apps, write the messages, and do the work of turning interest into a specific evening at a specific place. That part is work and it can be promised.

What the woman thinks of you over that drink is not our work, and a company that promises you a count of dates per week from day one is promising you something it cannot control.

Section 04

What the promise does not cover, said plainly

It is not a guarantee of matches. It is not a guarantee of likes. It is not a number of dates.

Those things move with your city, your age, what you are looking for, and how narrow your terms are, and any number attached to them would be invented. The promise is scoped to the one thing that is ours: the first date, inside the week, and the work continuing if it is not there. The terms of that promise are written down rather than implied, because a promise you have to take on trust is not really a promise.

Section 05

What we keep working actually looks like

Not a polite email saying we are still on it.

The apps keep getting worked every day. The photo set gets looked at again, because a week of real traffic tells you which picture is doing the work and which one is costing you, and that is information nobody had on day one. The profile order changes. The terms get revisited with you, because a week of nothing is often a week of terms that are slightly too narrow for where you live rather than a week of bad work.

Then the messaging changes. Which openers got answers, which ones got read and ignored, how long the good exchanges ran before an evening was suggested, and whether the suggestion came too early or came so late she had lost interest.

That is a normal week of the service, and it is what the promise buys you more of.

Section 06

The harder promise to make

This one costs us more than a refund would, which is the point of it.

A refund is a clean exit. Under this promise there is no exit, so the only way out of a slow start is through it, and the work of getting there is ours. That puts the two of us on the same side of the same problem from the first day, which is where you want your money to put us.

You bring the two or three things you will not bend on, ten or fifteen ordinary photographs of your face, and the evenings you are free. Our team does the rest and keeps doing it.

That is the Online Dating Concierge. If you want your apps run on that promise, see if you qualify and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
