Boost puts you in front of more Lox Club members than would normally see you, and afterward it shows you the likes you received. That is the whole feature as Lox Club's help center describes it. It comes with the Visitor tier, the free membership, so trying it costs you nothing. What Boost cannot do is make anyone like you. It widens the audience, and your photos and what you wrote still decide how that audience responds.
The two halves of a Boost
Lox Club describes Boost in two parts, and they do different jobs.
The first half is reach. Your profile is promoted to even more members than usual. Nothing about you changes. More women simply get the chance to look.
The second half is the payoff. After the promotion, the app shows you the likes you received. That list is the part you actually act on, because it tells you which women showed interest before you said a word.
More eyes only help a set that already works
a dating coach makes a point about paid extras on every app, and it applies to a free one too. A feature that multiplies your exposure only multiplies what you already have. If an ordinary week brings you a few likes, a Boost can bring you more. If an ordinary week brings you none, a Boost mostly shows more women the same set they would have passed on anyway.
So look at what happens without it first. A few normal days on the app will show you whether your photos and answers get any response at all. If they do, a Boost is worth a try. If they do not, the Boost is not the thing to fix.
Get ready before you use one
A Boost sends a wave of women to your profile at once. Everything they see should be ready before you press the button.
Lead with a clear, recent photo of your face in good light. Follow it with photos from a few different days and places, so the set looks like a life rather than one afternoon. Then make your written answers specific enough to reply to. "I like travel" gives a woman nothing to say back. A line about the trip you are planning, or the restaurant you keep going back to, hands her an easy opener.
Now look at the whole thing the way a stranger would. If you would not be curious about the man on that screen, fix him first. The Boost can wait a day.
Pick your moment
Do not build a theory about the perfect hour to Boost. Use common sense instead.
Boost when you will be around to follow up. Likes are most useful while they are fresh, and a woman's interest cools when days pass with nothing from you. Running a Boost the night before a week of travel wastes it. Running it on a quiet evening, when you can open the app again tomorrow, does not.
Turning the likes into matches and messages
The likes list is a short list, not a scoreboard. Go through it slowly and pick the women you would genuinely want to take out. Put your effort into those, and let the rest go.
When a conversation starts, keep your side short and specific. a dating coach's advice for app conversations is that fewer words usually beat more. A comment on something she wrote lands better than a compliment on her photo, because it shows you actually read what she wrote.
Then steer toward a plan. Once the back and forth is easy and she is asking you questions too, suggest a specific place and an evening. A woman who is chatting happily is ready to be asked. Waiting for the perfect moment is how a promising chat drifts into nothing.
Is Boost worth it
On the Visitor tier it costs nothing, so the only question is whether it produces anything for you. a dating coach's approach to any extra on a dating app is to test it and judge it by results. Keep what works, and drop what does not.
Judge a Boost by the dates it leads to, not by the number of likes. A dozen likes that go nowhere are worth less than two that turn into an evening out. If your Boosts bring likes but no dates, the gap is in your conversations, and that is where your effort belongs next.
