Each Match tier adds to the one below it. Bronze covers rating and liking people on Discover, Silver adds seeing who Likes you, Platinum adds the search and visibility tools, and Diamond adds dating-intent filters, automatic weekly Boosts and extra Super Likes. Packages run from one month up to a year, and what is offered can vary by where you live.
Bronze: ratings, Likes and rewinds
Bronze is the entry tier. It includes:
- Unlimited profile ratings on Discover
- Unlimited Likes
- Unlimited rewinds
In practice, Bronze takes the brakes off the basic activity of the app. You can rate and Like as many people as you want. What it does not give you is any information about who is interested in you. For that you move up a tier.
Silver: seeing who Likes you
Silver adds one feature on top of Bronze: you can see who Likes you.
That one feature is worth more than it sounds. When you can see the women who already Liked you, you can Like them back, and a Like returned is the easiest start to a conversation the app offers. You are no longer guessing which of the women you rated might be interested. Some of them have already told you.
If you only upgrade once, this is the first place where the money changes what you can do rather than how much of it you can do.
Platinum: search, introductions and read receipts
Platinum is the biggest jump in the list. It adds:
- Unlimited introductions
- A weekly Super Like
- Unlimited Search
- A monthly Boost
- Advanced filters
- Read receipts
The feature to pay attention to is search. a dating coach points out that Match's real advantage over the swipe apps is that you can search for women and reach them without an algorithm choosing who you see. His example is a younger woman whose age range stops short of his age. On a swipe app she may never be shown to him, even if they would like each other on sight. Search lets you find her anyway.
Read receipts tell you when she has seen your message. Useful, but be careful with them. The moment you learn she opened it and moved on is exactly when many men send a second and a third, and that rarely helps. Treat a read receipt as information, not as a reason to chase.
Diamond: intent filters and automatic Boosts
Diamond is the top tier. On top of Platinum it adds:
- Dating-intent filters
- Anti-Ghosting
- Weekly automatic Boosts
- More Super Likes each week
- Priority Likes
- A list of who viewed your profile
Diamond suits a man who knows what he wants from the app and wants the app to do more of the upkeep. Intent filters let you narrow toward women looking for the same kind of relationship you are. Automatic weekly Boosts mean you are pushed up in front of more people without having to remember to do it.
Seeing who viewed your profile is a softer version of seeing who Likes you. A woman who looked but did not Like is not a sure thing, but she is warmer than a stranger.
Where Super Likes fit
Platinum gives you a Super Like each week and Diamond gives you more. Do not let that decide your tier.
coach is openly unconvinced by Super Likes. His concern is that they can come across as eager, and that they start the conversation with her already on a pedestal, because you have announced that she is special before she has done anything to earn it. You may get a little more attitude and have more work to do once you are talking. He has had plenty of good matches without ever using them.
So treat Super Likes as a minor extra. The features that change your results are search, seeing who Likes you, and visibility.
Which tier makes sense for you
My general rule on paid features is that they are usually worth testing, and that they work as multipliers. Pay for one month, compare it with how the free version was going, and keep paying only if the difference is clear.
A rough guide:
- If you want to Like back women who are already interested, Silver is the smallest step that does it.
- If you want to search for women yourself and reach the ones an algorithm would never have shown you, Platinum is the tier built for that.
- If you want serious intent filters and steady visibility without managing it, Diamond is the one.
Package length is a separate choice. Match offers packages from one month up to a year, and the options can vary by location. A single month is the honest way to test a tier before you commit to a longer one.
What no tier can do for you
Every tier changes how many women see you, or how easily you can find them. None of them changes what those women decide.
My warning about multipliers applies here. A multiplier only works on a result that is already above zero. If your photos and your messages earn some replies on the free version, a paid tier can earn you a lot more. If they earn nothing, a higher tier just shows that same nothing to more people. Fix the first photo and the first message first, then pay for reach.
