Boo finds people near you once you allow location access, which lets you set your match filters to local matches. To look for people somewhere else, you need Teleport, a Boo Infinity feature that lets you set your location anywhere in the world and find people in that specific area. Other users can tell the difference. White location text on someone's page means Boo detected the location itself. Blue text means that person teleported.
Local by default, anywhere with Teleport
With location access on, Boo knows roughly where you are, and you can set your match filters to local matches. For most men that is the right setting nearly all the time, because the women you can realistically meet this week live near you.
Teleport is for the exceptions. With Boo Infinity you can set your location to any city in the world and look for people there. You might be moving next month, flying somewhere for work, or spending a long weekend with friends in another country.
Women can see that you teleported
Boo does not hide it. On a user's page, the location text is white when it was detected automatically and blue when the person teleported. So any woman who looks closely knows you are not physically in her city yet.
That is a good thing, and you should treat it as one. The blue text is honest by design, so make the rest of your conversation just as honest. She will wonder where you really are, and "I land there next Friday for the weekend" is a far better answer than a dodge.
It also means Teleport is only worth using for a place you are actually going. Talking to women in a city you have no plan to visit wastes their evenings and yours.
The best use: a city you are about to live in
a dating coach has lived in a lot of different cities, and he has one habit he never skips when he moves. About two weeks before the move, he goes online in the new city and starts talking to women there. When he arrives, he already has women interested and dates lined up, instead of spending his first month unpacking boxes and working out where people go out.
Teleport is exactly that tool on Boo. Set your location to the new city a couple of weeks ahead. Tell women you are moving there and roughly when. A man who is about to arrive has an easy, true opening, and plenty of women are happy to tell a newcomer which neighborhoods are worth living in and which bars are worth the walk.
Trips and work travel
A trip works the same way on a shorter clock. A few days before you fly, teleport to the city, start a handful of conversations, and aim to fix a time for the evenings you are actually free.
Be realistic about your calendar. A three-day work trip with client dinners every night has room for one date, maybe two. Starting twenty conversations for a trip like that just leaves eighteen women waiting on a plan that never comes.
Say where you are in your first messages
Put the facts in early: where you are now, when you arrive, how long you are staying. Something like: "I'm in Chicago until Thursday, then in your city for the weekend. What's the one thing I shouldn't miss?"
That line explains the blue text before she has to ask. It gives her an easy question with an obvious answer. And it tells her there is a real weekend with a start and an end, which makes suggesting a drink later feel natural rather than sudden.
Setting the date for when you land
The weak point of any long-distance start is the gap between chatting and meeting. A conversation that drifts for two weeks with no plan tends to fade before your plane lands.
So get specific while she is interested. Once the chat is going well, suggest a day and a place for when you are there, and swap numbers. My rule is to move the plan onto a call before the date, because in his experience a woman who has heard your voice rarely flakes, and that matters even more when you are flying in. Confirm the day before, once you have arrived, so she knows you are really there.
Then, when you are home again, go back to local matches. The women you can see every week are the ones near you.
