Tinder does not say. It publishes no sale calendar, so there is no stated schedule for Platinum, and anyone who gives you a month or a holiday is guessing. What Tinder does say is that it frequently offers promotional rates, and its help center says it offers special deals on its premium features every now and then. Those deals can vary by region, length of subscription, bundle size, past purchases and account activity.
What Tinder actually says
There are two statements worth knowing, and neither one is a schedule.
The first is in Tinder's terms. It says the company frequently offers promotional rates. They can vary based on region, length of subscription, bundle size, past purchases and account activity. The second is in the help center, which says that every now and then Tinder offers special deals on its premium features.
"Frequently" and "every now and then" are not dates. Put together, they describe something that happens, differs between people, and is not announced in advance.
Why the same sale can look different to two men
The list in the terms explains the confusion on forums. One man says Platinum was cheap last week, another says it was never discounted. Both can be telling the truth.
Region, plan length, bundle size, past purchases and account activity can all change what a man is shown. So a deal that exists for him may not exist for you, and the reverse is just as likely. A claim like "it goes on sale in the spring" cannot be checked, since Tinder publishes nothing to check it against.
How a promo code works
If you do have a promo code, Tinder's help center explains where it goes. Sign in at Tinder.com, tap the profile icon, scroll to Promo Code, and enter the code there.
Use the same login you swipe with, so the deal lands on the account you actually use. And take a code only from Tinder itself. A stranger selling you a code, or a site that wants your login before handing one over, is not offering a deal.
Why waiting for a sale can cost you
A discount only saves money if you were going to buy anyway. If you are not sure Platinum helps you, a sale just makes an uncertain purchase cheaper.
Waiting also has a price of its own. Every week you hold off is a week of matches you may not be getting. If the paid feature really does lift your results, a delay costs more than the discount saves. If it does not, no discount makes it worth buying. The sale is the smaller question either way.
Decide on value first
Platinum includes everything in Plus and Gold, plus Prioritized Likes. Tinder says these get your Likes and Super Likes seen faster by a potential match. Gold adds weekly Super Likes, a Boost each month and seeing who Likes You. So the extra step to Platinum is the faster delivery of your Likes.
Ask whether that is your bottleneck. If you are already matching and the conversations die, speed is not the problem. If you are sending thoughtful Likes and hearing nothing, there is something to test.
Test it once, cheaply
a dating coach's advice is to try a paid feature once and drop it if it makes no difference. He treats these features as multipliers. They multiply the results you already have, so if you get nothing for free, you are multiplying zero.
So get at least some matches without paying first. Then write down your numbers for two weeks, buy the shortest plan that includes what you want, and keep the same record. A deal on Platinum is a nice bonus to the test. It should not be the reason you run it.
What to do if you want it cheaper
Check the plan screen in the app and look for promotional rates Tinder shows you. Keep an eye out for official promo codes, and enter them at Tinder.com. Beyond that, treat a discount as luck, not a plan.
A realistic way to think about price
A deal is something that may or may not appear. Your results are something you can work on today.
If you set aside the cost of a plan and put the same effort into your photos and your first messages, you will usually gain more than a discount could give you. Then, if you decide Platinum is worth testing, the price on your screen is just a number to compare against the dates you hope to get.
The short answer
Tinder gives no sale schedule for Platinum, only a statement that promotional rates are frequent and vary by person. Do not time a purchase around a calendar nobody publishes. Decide whether the feature is worth it for you, test it, and take a real Tinder deal if one happens to appear.
