There is no daily number. Backtrack requires Bumble Boost, Premium or Premium+, and Bumble lists it as unlimited on those plans, so it does not hand you a set quantity each day. On a free account you get none. It also only reverses a left swipe, and a right swipe cannot be undone.

What Backtrack actually does

Backtrack is an undo button for a left swipe, which is a no. When you pass on someone by accident, you tap the undo arrow in the top-right corner of the People tab, and she comes back.

That is the whole feature. It reverses a left swipe and nothing else.

Why there is no daily count

Men ask for a number because other features have one. SuperSwipes and Spotlights come in a weekly allowance, and free Extends come one a day. Backtrack is different: Bumble describes it as unlimited once you are on a plan that includes it.

So the useful question is not how many you get. It is whether you pass on enough women by mistake to pay for a plan that fixes it.

What it cannot undo

Bumble is clear that a right swipe cannot be undone. Neither can a SuperSwipe, which is a right swipe with extra weight.

This matters because the expensive mistake is rarely the left swipe. Swiping right on the wrong woman while distracted starts a match you did not want, and Backtrack does nothing about it. If one slips through, you can unmatch, or let the match expire without writing anything.

When it is worth paying for

Backtrack alone is a poor reason to buy a plan. Look at the whole bundle against your real problem.

If you often swipe fast and miss women you would have liked, the better fix is to slow down, not to pay for an undo. If you use the app in short bursts on a train or in a queue and your thumb slips, Backtrack earns something. If your issue is that women are matching with you and then going quiet, it does nothing for you.

a dating coach's rule for any paid extra is to test it. Don't buy it blindly. Try it for a stretch, watch whether your results change, and cancel if they do not.

Slow down and you will not need it

Most accidental passes come from judging a woman on one photo in half a second. Open the whole page before you decide: the other photos, her written answers and her interests. It takes a few seconds longer per woman and cuts the accidents without a subscription.

It also protects you from the opposite habit. A man who right swipes on nearly everyone, to be sure he misses nobody, ends up with a list of matches he has no real interest in, and a right swipe is the one thing Backtrack cannot fix.

Where your time is better spent

Swiping is the cheapest part of the app, and men spend the most effort on it. a dating coach's order of work runs the other way. He goes through the conversations he already has first, starting with the women closest to a date, and only then goes back to swipe or push for more matches. The best leads get your attention before the new ones do.

An undo button helps you swipe slightly better. A reply to a woman who already matched with you does far more for your results, and it costs nothing.

If the arrow is not showing

If you cannot find the undo arrow, check your plan first. Backtrack requires Boost, Premium or Premium+, so a free account will not show it. Also check that you are on the People tab, and that the swipe you want to reverse was a left swipe.

If you do have a plan that includes it and the arrow still does not appear, restart the app before assuming something is wrong with your account.
