Match is a dating service where you make a page, find women through Discover and Search, tap the blue heart to Like someone, and chat with her once she Likes you back. Free members can chat with every match. Paid members get more tools for finding and reaching women. Everything else is detail on those three steps.

Step one: your page

You need at least one clear photo of your face and three photos in total before your page is shown. The text you write is reviewed before it is posted, so it does not appear the second you finish typing.

Treat this as the part that decides your results. Everything after it depends on a stranger opening your page and deciding in a few seconds whether to Like you.

Step two: finding women

Match gives you several ways to look.

Discover shows Recommended members and Top Picks. Search lets you filter by what you want. Mutual Search finds people who fit your criteria while you fit theirs. Reverse Search finds women whose stated preferences you meet.

This is what separates Match from the pure swipe apps. You can choose whom to look at instead of waiting for software to hand you someone. coach calls the ability to search and write to a woman directly one of its real advantages. On a swipe app, a woman's age or height filter can hide you from her even when she would have liked you in person.

Step three: Likes, matches and messages

You tap the blue heart to Like someone. If she returns the Like, you can message each other, and that is a match.

Match says free members can chat with every match, rate a daily set of profiles in the Recommended stack and explore curated members. You do not have to pay to find out whether women reply to you.

What paid members get

Paid packages run from one month up to a year, in four tiers: Bronze, Silver, Platinum and Diamond. Each adds to the one below. For example, Silver adds seeing who Likes you, and Diamond adds Who's Viewed Me.

Match also sells add-ons, such as Private Mode, and one-time features such as Boost, which puts you near the top of search results for a short window. What each tier includes changes, so read the screen on the day you buy rather than trusting a list in an article.

Subscriptions auto-renew. You can turn that off at any time after you purchase, and Match says a plan cannot be paused once it is active.

How a man should use it

Start free. Give the free version a week and write down three numbers: how many women you Liked, how many Liked you back, and how many agreed to meet. Those numbers tell you whether paying would multiply something or multiply nothing.

If the free week produces replies, a paid tier may speed things up. If it produces silence, a subscription will not change what a woman sees on your page. My rule for every paid feature is to test it and drop it if nothing moves. He is not against paying, and he says men are too reluctant to spend on dating. He treats a subscription as a multiplier on a good page and a good first line.

When you write to a woman you found by search, use one real detail from her page and finish with a question she can answer in a line. Keep the exchange short and suggest a time and place within a few texts, roughly four to seven.

Mistakes to avoid

Buying a long plan on day one is the expensive one. Match shows the monthly or weekly cost for comparison, but the plan is charged in full at the time of purchase, so a long plan is a large payment you cannot pause.

Setting your preferences too narrowly is the quiet one. If you ask for a tiny slice of women, Match has little to show you and you will think the site is empty.

Collecting Likes is the usual one. Women who Like you back are a starting point. A conversation that ends in a plan is the result.

Who it suits

Match suits a man who wants control over whom he reaches and who is willing to write real messages. It is a weaker choice for a man hoping that matches will arrive with no effort. Run it beside the app that gives you the most conversations where you live, keep your best photos on both, and keep whichever one produces dates.
