Use Search. POF's help center says Search is available on every membership level, including free. It finds people by how close they are to you, using your location, postal or zip code and city. For a profile you have already seen, check Interested in Me for people who liked or viewed you, and My Likes for people you liked.

Search finds people by distance

Search on Plenty of Fish is a way to find people near you. It is not described as a lookup for one named person.

It works from your location, your postal or zip code and your city, and it is open to everyone. You do not need a paid membership to use it.

You can change what Search shows in your search preferences, such as age and distance. Be ready for one quirk. Search automatically widens beyond the distance or age range you set, and POF says there is no option to stop that. There is also no filter by state or country, only by distance.

So if the woman you want is far away, Search is the wrong tool, and no setting will make it the right one.

Interested in Me lists people who looked at you

If a profile belongs to someone who liked or viewed you, you do not need to search for her at all.

POF lists those people in the Interested in Me tab. In the app it is the heart icon at the bottom of the screen, and on the website it is a button in the top navigation. A woman who opened your page shows up there.

That makes the tab the easiest way to find someone you remember seeing. Check it once a day, not once a month, because a like returned quickly lands while she still remembers why she liked you.

My Likes saves the ones you liked

Members you have liked are saved in a list under My Likes on your Discover page. If you liked a woman, lost track of her, and now cannot find her in the stack of faces, go there first.

This is the answer for most men who ask the question. They liked someone and swiped away, and the profile feels lost. It is almost always sitting in that list, and checking it takes seconds.

Why a profile does not show up

Sometimes you look in the right place and she is not there. POF says that when someone you liked or messaged does not show up, it usually means one of two things. She closed her account, or she has you blocked.

POF displays only active accounts, so a closed account simply disappears from every list. You cannot tell the two cases apart, and you should not try. A woman who has blocked you has told you what she wants, and a closed account has nothing left to find.

Do not go hunting for her somewhere else. Looking up a woman on social media after she disappeared from the app turns a quiet ending into something uncomfortable for her. It does nothing for you.

What she sees when she finds yours

The same tools work in reverse, and that is the part most men skip.

Women find profiles the way you do: through Meet Me, Search, and the likes and views lists. Whenever she lands on yours, she looks at your photos first. Women judge a man by his weakest picture, so a single blurry shot or a group photo where she cannot tell which one is you can lose her at the moment she was ready to like you.

Put up pictures where your face is clear and nobody else is in the frame. Then write a few real details about your life, something she could reply to, rather than a list of adjectives. A page that gives her one concrete thing to ask about is far easier to message than one that says you are fun and easy to talk to.

Make the search worth it

Finding her profile is only the first step.

When you reach a woman you want to write to, pick one real detail from her page, say something about it, and end on a question she can answer in a line. That beats "Hey" every time.

And be selective about whom you like at all. a dating coach found that an app which watches a man like nearly everyone treats him as a man with no standards, and shows him fewer of the women he wants. A short list of women you would genuinely ask out is easier to find again, and far more likely to lead to a date.
