How BLACK Messages Work on Luxy

A BLACK Message is a message you send a woman on Luxy before the two of you have matched. You can send her a small number of them, and if she matches with you, the conversation simply carries on as normal. BLACK members can send BLACK Messages to a limited number of women each day and buy more with Luxy Coins. On the Discover page there are no Like or Pass buttons to swipe with, so a BLACK Message is how you match with someone there.

On most of Luxy you like someone and wait for her to like you back. A BLACK Message skips the wait. You write to her first, and your words land in front of her before she has decided anything about you.

Luxy lets you send each woman a few messages this way. If she matches with you, nothing resets. The messages you already sent become the start of an ordinary conversation.

As a BLACK member you can send BLACK Messages to a limited number of different women each day. If you want to reach more than that, you can buy extra with Luxy Coins.

Treat the daily limit as a budget, not a quota. The goal is not to use every one. It is to use each one on a woman you actually want to see in person, with a message written for her.

Discover does not show Like or Pass buttons at all. If you find someone there, a BLACK Message is how you match with her.

That changes how you should use it. On Discover you are not liking faces and hoping for the best. Every match you make there starts with something you wrote, so the quality of your first line decides everything.

Being able to reach a woman directly, instead of hoping the app shows you to her, is one of the most useful things a paid feature can give you. You choose who you talk to.

It helps most if your writing is better than your photos. On a like-first app, a man with ordinary photos and a quick mind rarely gets the chance to show the second part. A BLACK Message gives him that chance, including with women who might never have been shown his page at all.

There is a cost, and it is not the Coins. Writing first tells her you picked her out. That hands her a little of the power, so the message has to be good enough to earn it back. A needy or overeager first message is worse than none.

She has not chosen you yet, so your message has one job: show her you are worth a reply.

Keep it brief. A couple of sentences does the job. Build it around one specific thing from her page, a place in her photos, a line she wrote, something she clearly cares about. Specific beats impressive almost every time.

Add a little of yourself. A light opinion or a playful tease gives her something to push back on. A plain compliment gives her nothing to do but say thanks. Then end with something easy to answer.

Here is the difference in practice. Say one of her photos shows her on a boat. "Beautiful photos, you seem amazing" could have been sent to anyone, so it earns nothing. "Serious sailor, or is that a friend's boat you are borrowing for the photo?" shows you looked, teases her a little, and hands her an easy reply. A few things work against you.
