Luxy says it limits unverified members to one message for the security of the community. Until your account is verified, you can send one message and no more. The rule applies to Luxy BLACK members too, since a BLACK member whose account is unverified has to verify his photo before he can send more messages.
Why the limit exists
Luxy gives the reason as the security of the community, and the logic is easy to follow. Fake accounts depend on volume. A scammer or a bot wants to send the same line to as many people as possible.
Capping unverified accounts at one message makes that pointless. A real man, meanwhile, only has to verify once to lift the cap for good. For you, the limit is mostly a reminder about order: verify first, then talk.
The rule also protects you. The women you talk to on Luxy have to verify before they can hold a conversation, the same as you. A fake account that slips through the door still cannot carry on a chat without passing the same check, which makes the conversations you do have far more likely to be with real people.
BLACK members are not an exception
Paying for Luxy BLACK does not buy your way around this. Luxy says BLACK members with unverified accounts need to verify their photo before sending more messages, the same as everyone else.
So if you upgraded expecting everything to open up at once, this is the one step the upgrade does not skip.
If you are deciding whether BLACK is worth it, judge it on what it offers once you are verified. Do not buy it to get around the message limit, because it will not. Verification is entirely within your control, so do that part first and make the paid decision separately.
How to verify
Luxy's help center says to go to your Profile page, scroll to Verify Photo and follow the instructions. Verified accounts get a blue checkmark badge, and the verification photo stays private to the Luxy team.
It can be turned down if your face is not visible, if your selfie does not match your uploaded photo, or if the system cannot recognize your main photo. So take the selfie in good light with nothing covering your face. Make sure your main photo is a clear, recent shot of you alone.
Verify before you start swiping
The easiest way to avoid the limit is never to hit it. Verify as soon as your account is set up, before you like anyone on the Match page.
The trouble starts when a man begins matching straight away. He sends a first message to the first woman who likes him back, and then finds he cannot answer her reply or write to his next match. A good conversation stalls at exactly the moment it was getting started.
If you have already used your one message
Verify now. Once your account is verified, you can carry on where you left off.
If she has replied in the meantime, answer her as soon as the badge is on your account, and do not over-explain the delay. A short, warm reply that picks the conversation back up works far better than an apology about app rules. She does not need the backstory. She needs a reason to keep talking.
Make the first message worth answering
Whatever the limit, a first message has one job. It should give her an easy, enjoyable reason to write back.
Pick one detail from her photos or what she wrote, and say something playful or curious about it. Keep it to a line or two. "Hey" and "how are you" give her nothing to work with, and a long paragraph about yourself gives her too much. A light question tied to something specific about her gives her exactly enough.
Say one of her photos shows her at a cooking class, flour everywhere. "Hi, how's your week going?" gives her nothing. "Judging by the flour, the pasta won that fight. Who taught you?" gives her a laugh, a question and an easy way in. It is short, it is about her, and it takes her two seconds to answer.
She liked you back, so she is already interested. You are not trying to impress her from scratch. You are trying to start a conversation she enjoys having.
After she replies
Keep the tone light, and share a little about your own life so she gets a sense of who you are. Avoid firing factual questions at her one after another, because a chat that feels like a form to fill in dies quickly.
When the conversation is warm, suggest a specific plan with a day and a place. Do not ask on her very first reply, even if it is enthusiastic, because one or two more messages first make the invitation feel natural. After that, suggest the evening before the chat has time to go stale.
