No. Hinge's help center does not list a mode called incognito. It describes pause, your last active status, and hiding a chat as its visibility controls. It also keeps two things private on its own: your Dating Preferences, which act only as filters nobody else can see, and your subscription status.

Pause is the closest thing

Pausing your account stops you from being shown to new people. You keep chatting with the women you already matched with.

That makes it the nearest match to what men mean by incognito: you are not appearing in anyone's feed, but the conversations you have keep going. It is the right tool when you are seeing someone you like and want to see where it goes, or when you are busy and want to stop collecting new attention.

Pausing does not pause a subscription, and a Like you sent before pausing can still be matched. So it is not a full disappearance. If you paid for something, the clock keeps running.

Hiding your last active status

The Show Last Active Status setting lets you hide your last active status. If you hide it, other people cannot see yours, and you cannot see theirs.

The trade is plain. You give up the ability to check whether she was online lately, and in exchange she cannot check you. For a man who does not want anyone to see when he was last on the app, it is useful. For one who wants to judge whether a quiet woman is just busy, it costs a signal.

What stays private without you doing anything

Hinge says your Dating Preferences are private and act only as filters that no one else can see. A woman cannot open your page and read what you set for age range or distance.

Your subscription status is private too. Nobody else on Hinge can see whether you pay.

Those two are worth knowing, because men sometimes hide things they do not need to hide. A paid tier does not announce itself.

What a Like does

Sending a Like is not private. When you send one, the profile leaves your Discover feed until that person responds, and she can see your Like.

So no setting lets you show interest without her knowing. If you do not want someone to see that you are interested, do not Like her. Looking at a page and moving on is a separate act, and Hinge's pages do not describe a record of who looked.

Hiding a chat

If you want a conversation out of sight, Hinge has a Hide feature. It removes the chat from view and keeps the connection intact, so you can bring it back later.

Hinge also automatically hides chats with no activity for 14 days, in the Hidden section of the Matches tab. That is housekeeping, not privacy, but it is why some of your conversations seem to disappear.

What none of these do

None of the controls Hinge lists is aimed at a particular person. Pause, last active status, and hidden chats are all about how your account shows up in general, not about who sees it.

If your worry is a specific man or woman you know, and you do not want that person to find you, no control in this list solves it. Think before you build a profile you would not want that person to read, because you cannot count on avoiding every person you know.

Why men usually ask

Most men who type this question want one of three things. They want to look at profiles without a coworker or an ex seeing them. They want to stop being shown for a while without losing the conversations they have. Or they want to like someone without it being obvious.

The first and third are the ones Hinge does not give you. A page that is shown is a page that can be seen, and a Like is a Like. The second is exactly what pause is for, and it is the only one of the three that Hinge supports directly.

How to decide

If you want to stop being shown but keep your conversations, pause. If you want to browse without being seen as online, hide your last active status. If you want a chat out of your way, hide it.

Whichever you choose, nothing changes the fact that a woman who sees your page sees the page. The best privacy is a page you are comfortable with anyone reading, with photos and prompts that sound like the man you are.
