eHarmony generally does not do coupon codes. What it sometimes does is offer Basic members a discount on a subscription, and when it does, the discount shows up already applied on the subscription page. It may also run special offers around occasions like Valentine's Day, other holidays, or the change of seasons.
Where a discount shows up
If eHarmony is offering you a discount, you do not need to find a code or type anything in. You will see it on the subscription page, with the lower price already applied.
That makes checking easy. While you are still on Basic, open the subscription page now and then and look at what it shows you. If there is a discount, it is right there. If there is not, no hidden code is going to produce one.
Discounts are offered to Basic members, meaning men who have not subscribed yet. So the time to look is before you buy, not after.
Why coupon codes rarely work here
Search for an eHarmony coupon and you will find plenty of websites claiming to have one. Since eHarmony generally does not do coupons, those pages rarely have anything real to give you. Some exist mainly to show you ads.
Treat any code you find with suspicion, and never put your card details anywhere except eHarmony's own subscription page. Saving a little is not worth handing your payment information to a site you know nothing about.
Offers around holidays and seasons
eHarmony says it may run special offers around occasions like Valentine's Day, other holidays, and the change of seasons.
If one of those is only a week or two away, it can be worth checking the subscription page again around then before you buy. There is no promise an offer will appear, and there is no way to know in advance what it will be. Treat a seasonal deal as a nice surprise if it turns up, not as something to plan your dating life around.
Is waiting for a deal worth it
That depends on whether you are ready to use the site well.
If your photos are old, your page is half written, and you are not ready to take anyone out, then staying on Basic for a while costs you nothing. Use that time to get your page right, and keep an eye on the subscription page while you do.
If you are ready, waiting is usually the expensive choice. Men interested in improving with women often have a strong bias against paying for anything, as if paying for a dating site were the same as being desperate. It is not. A subscription is a tool. The question is whether it gets you in front of women you want to date, and weeks spent waiting for a small saving are weeks with no dates at all.
The real cost of online dating is time
The price of a subscription is the smallest cost involved. The bigger one is the time you spend, and the time you waste.
Take a man who pays full price, logs in twice a day, writes good first lines and moves conversations toward drinks. He will get far more for his money than a man who found a discount and then checked in once a week. Paid months keep running whether you use them or not. A discount on months you waste is not a saving.
So before you pay anything, decide how you are going to use the site. That decision is worth more than any offer.
Make the paid months count
Get your page ready first. Put up a clear, recent photo of your face and a few that show how you actually live. Write a few specific lines about your life that sound like you talking, not a list of adjectives.
Set yourself a routine before the first payment goes through. Ten minutes in the morning and ten in the evening is plenty. It adds up to a couple of hours a week, and it gets far more out of a subscription than one long session on a Sunday night.
Once you are paying, reply to women soon after they write. Keep your first messages short, with one light comment about something specific on her page and an easy question she can answer. Mention a drink early, as a casual idea, and ask for her number a few messages later.
That is how a subscription pays for itself. The price you paid matters far less than the dates it turns into.
