No. When a woman gets a first message from you on Plenty of Fish, it is up to her to reply or like you back to show she wants to chat. If she does neither, POF does not let you send a follow-up, so your first message is the only one she will ever see from you.

The first message has to do the whole job

The first messages that work follow a simple format you can repeat. Notice one specific thing about her, say something about it, and leave her an easy way to answer. Keep it to one or two ideas. A wall of text from a stranger looks like hard work to reply to, and it reads as more interest than she has earned yet.
