Yes. EliteSingles' help answer on hiding your profile says to log in, click Settings under your main photo icon in the upper right corner of the top bar, and look there. Hiding a single member is a separate step, done from the three dots on that member's profile. It also helps to know what the site's other words mean, because a profile that disappears does not always mean what a man fears.
Where the setting lives
After you log in, your main photo icon sits in the upper right corner of the top bar. Click Settings under it. That is where EliteSingles' help answer sends you for hiding your profile.
If you only want a break, look through the options there before you delete anything. The site mentions members pausing their profiles, and a pause is a far smaller step than removing your account.
Hiding one member is different
You can hide an individual member from the three dots on her profile. Hiding a member stops that member from communicating with you or seeing your profile.
That is a clean way to deal with one person you do not want to hear from, such as a conversation that has gone sour. It leaves everyone else untouched, and you do not have to take your whole profile down to get rid of one person.
Members you hid can be found and unhidden under Hidden in the left sidebar of Settings. So it is not a one-way door.
Hiding from search is not blocking
The site draws a clear line here. Hiding from search only removes a user from your search results. She can still see your profile and contact you.
Blocking is stronger. It stops all communication and stops that person from viewing your profile. If you want someone to be unable to reach you at all, block her. If you only want her out of your own view, hiding is enough.
Choose on purpose. A man who thinks he has shut a door when he has only hidden a name can be surprised by a reply he assumed would never arrive.
When a profile disappears on you
If a woman's profile vanishes from your list, EliteSingles says there are three common reasons. The member deleted her account. She paused her profile. Or she was removed for breaking the Community Guidelines.
You may also see a message that a user is unavailable. EliteSingles says this usually means the member took a break to pursue a relationship, or chose to hide her profile.
Do not read either as a verdict on you. A woman who vanished mid-conversation is far more likely to be seeing someone, taking a break or tired of the site than reacting to anything you wrote. Let it go and move to the next conversation.
Why a man would hide his own profile
There are good reasons. You may have started seeing someone and want to pause the search without deleting what you built. You may be busy for a month and not want women writing to a man who cannot answer. You may simply want a rest from the attention.
There are also bad reasons. Hiding because one conversation went badly, or because a few weeks produced nothing, takes you out of the one place where results can happen. If the cause is a weak page, fix the page rather than disappearing.
Reading the unavailable message without taking it personally
Seeing a woman you wrote to switch to unavailable stings for a minute. Resist the urge to message her somewhere else or to check whether she is back every day.
If she paused to pursue a relationship, she did what you would want a woman to do when she meets someone. If she hid her page for a break, she may come back, and a good first conversation will still be there when she does. Move on to the next woman and keep your own pace.
What to do instead of vanishing
If you are stepping away, finish the conversations you have. A short note to a woman you were talking with is better than going silent: you can say you are taking a break and thank her for the talk. It costs you thirty seconds and leaves a good impression.
When you come back, check your photos and the written sections before you unhide. A fresh lead photo and one new line tell returning visitors the page is alive.
Hiding changes who can find you on the site. It does not change what is already on your page. Before you come back, read the page the way a stranger would. Whatever a woman sees is what you are presenting, hidden or not.
