Badoo most often stops working on a phone because of a weak connection, an out-of-date app or a session that needs refreshing. Badoo's own troubleshooting page lists the fixes: check your connection, update the app, close and reopen it, log out and back in, clear the cache on Android, and restart the phone. A few known issues have no fix on your side, and the last section covers how to tell.

Step one: the connection

Badoo says a weak or unstable internet connection can cause trouble loading people, sending messages or updating your account. That is the first thing to rule out.

Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off. If you can, test Badoo on a second Wi-Fi network. A man who has Badoo working on mobile data but not at home has found his answer, and it is the home network.

Step two: update the app

Badoo warns that outdated app versions can cause glitches and crashes. Open the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android, search for Badoo and look for an Update button. If you see one, press it.

The same page ties glitches to old versions, so if Badoo is slow or will not load, update it before you try anything else.

Step three: close it, reopen it, log out and back in

If Badoo is not responding, fully close it from your list of recent apps, then open it again. Closing it from the home screen is not enough.

On Android there is a stronger version. Go to Settings, Apps, Badoo and tap Force stop, then open the app again.

Sometimes the session simply needs refreshing. Tap your profile icon, then Settings, scroll down and tap Log out. Close the app completely, open it and log back in.

Before you try this, be sure you know your login. You need the same phone number, email address or linked Google, Facebook or Apple account that you signed up with. A man who cannot remember which one he used can turn a small glitch into a larger one.

Step four: clear the cache on Android

Cached files are small pieces of data an app saves to help things load faster. They can sometimes cause bugs or slow loading. On Android, go to Settings, Apps, Badoo, Storage and tap Clear Cache.

If problems persist, Clear Data is a further option, and Badoo says it does not delete your account. You will have to log in again afterwards.

Step five: the last checks

Badoo suggests three more things. Turn off battery saver, VPNs and ad blockers for a moment, because they can interfere with how the app connects. Check that Badoo has the permissions it needs, such as location, camera, photos and notifications. And restart the phone fully, leaving it off for about thirty seconds.

If low storage on your phone is an issue, clear space, since a nearly full phone can slow apps down or make them crash.

Match the symptom to the fix

Different problems point to different steps, so start where the symptom points.

  • Profiles or messages will not load: start with the connection.
  • The app crashes or glitches: update it, then reinstall if needed.
  • The app is stuck and will not respond: force close it, then reopen it.
  • You are signed in but things look wrong: log out and back in, and on Android clear the cache.
  • You cannot log in at all: check that you are using the phone number, email address or linked account you signed up with.

If you work down that list in order, you will usually find the cause in a few minutes.

When nothing you do will help

Badoo keeps a list of known issues it is working on. It says Favourites and Visitors are not visible for some members, and that the CAPTCHA screen can appear blank at login. There is no workaround for either of those.

If your problem is on the list, wait. If it is not, and you have tried every step above, contact Badoo Support and tell them what you saw and what you tried. A message that names each step you tried is easier for Support to act on than "it doesn't work."

While the app is broken, do not spend the time refreshing it. Answer the women you are already talking to on other apps, or if you have one on a phone number, message her there. a dating coach moves a woman from an app to her number within a handful of messages. A glitch on one app costs you nothing when the conversation is already somewhere else.
