Why Did All Your Tinder Matches Disappear?

When your whole list goes blank at once, it is almost always a problem on Tinder's end, not every woman leaving on the same afternoon. Tinder says this may be temporary and suggests trying again later. If your matches still do not appear after that, its fix is to log out of the app and log back in.

An empty list is alarming, but give it a little time before you do anything drastic. Tinder's own advice is that the problem may be temporary and to try again later.

Close the app fully, do something else for an hour, and open it again. Check that your connection is working, too. On a weak signal, an app can look empty when it simply has not finished loading.

If everything comes back, that is the end of it. Nothing happened to your matches. The app had a bad hour.

An empty list is not a verdict on you, either. Women do not all unmatch the same man on the same afternoon, so do not start rewriting every opener you have ever sent because the screen went blank.

If the list is still empty, Tinder's fix is to log out and back in:

1. Open Tinder and tap the profile icon.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll down and tap Logout.

Then log back in the same way you always do. If you normally sign in with your phone number, use your phone number. If you use another sign-in option, use that one. Sticking with your usual method is the simplest way to land back in your own account.

A few missing names is a different situation. Tinder says that when only one or a few matches disappear, they most likely ended the match or deleted their account. That is not a glitch, and logging out will not bring them back.

It helps to know the difference so you do not waste an evening. Everything gone at once points to the app. A handful gone points to the women, and the women made a choice you cannot reverse.

Look at which names are missing. If they are chats that went quiet weeks ago, that is ordinary list-clearing on their side and nothing to lose sleep over.

Some men react to an empty list by deleting the app, reinstalling it, or deleting their whole account to start fresh. Hold off on all of that.

A short, normal reply picks things up again. You do not need to explain the glitch, although a light line about it is fine if a day or two has passed: "The app ate my messages for a day. Anyway, how did the interview go?" Then carry on as if nothing happened, because for her, nothing did.

A whole list disappearing at once is almost always on Tinder's side. Wait and try again later, then log out and back in if it is still empty, and contact Tinder if that does not work. Do not delete anything in frustration. And once you have your matches back, get the numbers of the women you are actually talking to, so the next glitch costs you nothing.
