Where Lox Club Is Available

Lox Club's FAQ says the app is available in all North American cities. It also names nine flagship cities: New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Philly, Chicago, Boston, DC and San Francisco. So if you live anywhere in North America, you can use it. The real question for you is not whether it works in your city, but how to use it well given where you live.

Those nine are the cities Lox Club itself leads with. Each one is a large city, which on any dating app means more people within a short trip of your door.

If you live in one of them, you are in the part of the map the club puts first. That is the best starting position the app offers. It does not mean the app does the work for you. It means the women you want to date are more likely to be close by, and the rest is up to you.

Outside those nine, Lox Club still works. You can join, set up an account and use the app in any North American city.

What changes is scale. A smaller city has fewer people on every dating app, and a members-only app with a specific audience feels that more than most. You may see fewer women near you than a man in Manhattan would. That is not a flaw in your account. It is arithmetic.

So plan for it rather than being surprised by it. Every good match counts for more, and a slow week is normal rather than a sign that something is broken.

A few habits make a smaller pool go further.

Answer quickly. In a big city a woman has plenty of other conversations to fall back on. In a small one, a man who replies the same day and suggests a plan stands out simply by being on the ball.

Be willing to travel a little. A woman forty minutes away is worth a drive if you would genuinely like to see her. Offer a place that is easy for her to reach, not one that suits only you. A date that is simple to say yes to is a date that actually happens.

In a smaller city those rooms can matter as much as any app.

If you are about to move to one of the flagship cities, it is reasonable to get your account ready before you arrive. Say plainly on your profile that you are moving and when, so nobody is confused about where you actually are.

What you should not do is pretend to live somewhere you do not. A woman who agrees to a drink and then learns you are three states away has every reason to feel misled. Honesty about where you are costs you nothing and saves you awkward conversations.
