Tinder Plus ends when the period you paid for is over and you have canceled. Until you cancel, it does not end at all: Plus, Gold and Platinum all renew automatically, and you are charged again at the end of each period. After you cancel, you can keep using Plus for the days you already paid for. Then the paid plan stops.

Plus does not run out on its own

Many men expect a subscription to quietly stop, like a trial. Tinder's does not. A six month plan renews at the end of those six months, for another period of the same length, until you tell it to stop.

So the date Plus ends is a date you set. Cancel before your renewal date, and the plan finishes at the end of what you paid for. Skip it, and the plan continues.

What happens after you cancel

Tinder's help center says that once you cancel, you keep your subscription for the remaining days you paid for. Canceling does not refund earlier payments, and fees are not prorated by the date you cancel.

There is a practical use in that. If you want only one stretch of Plus, you can cancel on the first day and still get the whole stretch. Then there is no renewal to remember.

Where to cancel

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel it either if you bought through Apple or Google Play. Look at the order number on your receipt:

  • MK means Apple, so cancel in your iPhone Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.
  • GPA means Google Play, so cancel under Payments and subscriptions in the Google Play app.
  • TNDR means you bought on Tinder.com or paid by direct credit card on Android, so cancel from the profile icon, then Manage Payment Account, then Cancel Subscription.

If you hold more than one subscription, each has its own renewal date and must be canceled separately.

What Plus includes, and what it does not

Check what you are paying for before you decide whether it should end. Tinder says Plus does not come with free Super Likes or a free monthly Boost. The free monthly Boost is for Gold plans of one month or longer.

That matters if you picked Plus expecting a Boost every month. A man who wanted the monthly Boost and paid for Plus got a different product than he thought. If the Boost is what you want, the choice is between Gold and doing without the monthly Boost, not between Plus and nothing.

Decide with a count, not a feeling

a dating coach treats every paid feature as a test. Pay for it, keep score, and drop it if it did not move your results. He also says a paid feature multiplies what you already have. If a profile gets no response, a multiplied zero is still zero.

Before the end date, write down three numbers for the period you paid for: how many women replied, how many of those conversations turned into a plan, and how many plans became dates.

If the numbers rose, keep it. If they stayed flat, cancel and look at what a woman sees when your card comes up. My usual list is the same: good photos, a bio that does not sound like every other man's, and a first line she can answer.

Moving up instead of stopping

Some men ask when Plus ends because they are thinking of Gold. That is a different decision from canceling. Treat it the same way, with the same count. Move up only if the count shows you are already getting responses and want more of them.

The short answer

Plus ends only after you cancel and the days you paid for run out. Cancel in the place that billed you, before the renewal date. Check what Plus includes so you are not paying for a Boost it does not give. And decide on your own numbers, not on a calendar reminder you did not set.
