Boost is the base plan: a weekly allowance of SuperSwipes and Spotlights, Extend, Rematch, and unlimited Backtrack. Premium includes all of that and adds four things: seeing who already liked you, advanced filters, Incognito Mode, and Travel Mode. The simplest way to hold it in your head is that Boost keeps matches alive, and Premium saves you time.
What both plans give you
Since Premium contains the whole Boost plan, the shared list is simply Boost.
A set number of SuperSwipes each week, to tell a woman you are especially interested before you match. A weekly allowance of Spotlights, which put you in front of more people in your area for a set period. Extend, to give a match more time before it expires, with no limit on how many you extend. Rematch, to restart the timer on a match that has already expired. And unlimited Backtrack, to undo a no swipe.
If you are deciding between the two, none of these features should sway you. You get them either way.
The four things only Premium adds
Liked You. A queue of the women who have already liked you, where you can match instantly. This is the big one.
Advanced filters. More specific preferences for narrowing who you match with.
Incognito Mode. Only the people you choose to like get to see you first.
Travel Mode. Change your location, which Bumble describes as useful when you are planning a trip or are new to town.
Of the four, Liked You is the one that changes how the app works for you. The other three are useful to specific men and irrelevant to most.
Pick Boost if the clock is your problem
Bumble matches only last a limited time before someone sends the first message. A lot of men lose good matches simply because they did not get to them in time.
If your best matches keep expiring before you write to them, Boost is aimed at exactly that. Unlimited Extend buys you time on the matches you want to write to properly. Rematch gives you a second chance on the ones that already slipped.
Pick Premium if time is your problem
If your evenings are short, the Liked You queue is worth more than everything in Boost combined.
Swiping through a deck spends most of your time on women who will never like you back. Sorting a queue of women who already did is a much faster job. Ten minutes on the queue can do what an hour of swiping used to.
Premium also earns its place if you travel often and want to start conversations in a city before you land, or if you would rather not be seen on the app by everyone nearby. Those are narrower cases, but for the men they fit, they matter.
One caution with Liked You: match only with the women you would have swiped on anyway. Matching with the whole queue just builds a pile of chats you will not answer, and those expire on Premium too if you never write.
Pick neither if the matches are not there yet
Every feature in both plans multiplies what your photos and written answers already do. A SuperSwipe shows her a clear sign that you went beyond a regular swipe, and Travel Mode puts a "travel mode" banner on your profile, but neither one changes the photos and answers she is deciding on.
If very few of your likes turn into matches on the free version, both plans buy you a bigger audience for the same result. A near-empty Liked You queue on Premium is the clearest version of that, and it is a sign the photos need work, not the plan.
The logic is simple arithmetic: a multiplier on zero is still zero. Get some matches coming in for free first, then pay to multiply them.
A cheap way to decide
Run the free version for two weeks and keep three rough counts: how many women you like, how many match, and how many of those matches expire before anyone writes.
A high expiry count points to Boost. A healthy match rate with no time to swipe points to Premium. A low match rate points to fixing the lead photo before you spend anything. After a month on the plan you chose, compare the same counts again. If they did not move, the plan was not the thing holding you back.
