EliteSingles does not publish a fixed price list in its help pages or its service agreement. Unlike a swipe app, it has a free sign-up and a paid subscription, and the price depends on the plan length it offers you at purchase. The agreement says fees can change and are paid in advance for the term you pick, and whether paying brings you more matches is up to what you do with it.

What it does say about price

The service agreement is blunt about the structure, even though it gives no figures. Subscription fees can change, and you pay them in advance for the length of plan you choose.

So there is no honest number to quote here, and one you see elsewhere may be out of date by the time you read it. The reliable move is to look at the price shown to you at the moment you sign up, since that is what you will be charged.

That is also true of most dating sites. Prices move, they vary by plan length, and they can differ from one buyer to the next.

The plan lengths

EliteSingles lists renewal terms of monthly, every three months or every six months, or another term offered at purchase.

Because you pay for the whole term in advance, a six-month plan is a bigger commitment than a month. Check the screen at checkout to see what each length costs and what it charges up front.

That makes plan length the real question for a man, more than the sticker price. A short term keeps you flexible. A long term locks you in whether or not it is working, so test before you commit to one.

Renewal is automatic unless you stop it

This is the part that surprises people. The agreement says a subscription may renew automatically for the same length unless you turn it off.

If you buy three months, you may be charged for another three months when the first runs out. If you do not want that, turn off auto-renewal early, not on the last day.

To do it, log in and go to Settings, or contact support. A subscription bought through Apple is different, and has to be canceled in your Apple account settings, since the charge runs through them.

The short trial window

EliteSingles describes a trial period of a few business days after you subscribe, during which cancelling can earn a refund. After that, fees are non-refundable.

Treat that window as a real deadline. If you sign up and decide quickly that it is not for you, act inside it. Waiting a week to make up your mind is the most common way men end up paying for months they did not want.

What shows on your card statement

Charges made through the website appear on a card statement under the payment processor's name, not under EliteSingles. So when you check your statement, look for the processor, or you may think a charge is a mistake.

It is a small thing, but it explains many "what is this charge" worries, and it is worth remembering if you ever need to dispute one.

Is it worth paying for

a dating coach's view on paying for dating services is that a refusal to spend on principle costs men results, but spending blindly is also a mistake. His rule is to test each thing, and drop it if it does not make a difference.

Apply that here. Sign up free first and see what the site shows you. If you decide to pay, pick the shortest plan that lets you test properly, and set a date to judge it.

Judge it by dates, not by features. A month in, ask how many women you wrote to, how many replied, and how many agreed to meet. If those numbers are weak, the fix is rarely a longer subscription. It is usually the photos and the first messages that decide who writes back.

Before you spend anything

Three habits protect your money:

  • Read the renewal terms on the screen before you pay, and note the date the plan ends.
  • Set a reminder to turn off auto-renewal a few days before the term runs out, if you do not mean to continue.
  • Write down what you want from the service, such as a number of first dates, so you can tell afterward whether it delivered.

If you want help getting more from it

A paid site only gives you more chances to be seen. It does not change what the woman sees when she opens your page or reads your first line. Men who pay and get little back usually have a weak spot in one of those two places.

If you have paid and the results are thin, have someone look at your page and your messages before you pay again. Fixing the part she reacts to is a better use of money than buying a longer plan.
