Boo uses hearts for three different things. The blue heart on the Match page shows interest in someone and sends them a Request. The pink heart is a super love, a stronger signal that pins your request to the top of their inbox. And the heart count you see beside a name is the total of reactions that person has received from other users.

The blue heart: interest

The blue heart is the ordinary yes. You tap it on someone you like, and Boo sends them a Request.

Nothing more is promised. She sees that you showed interest and decides for herself. If she sends love back, you are matched and can message each other. If she does not, you lose nothing but a tap.

Because it costs so little, it is easy to hand it out to everyone. a dating coach warns against that on any app, since apps tend to read a man who likes everybody as less attractive. Send the blue heart to women you would take out, and nobody else.

The pink heart: super love

A super love is the heightened version. It represents a higher level of interest, and your request is pinned to the top of that person's request inbox instead of sitting in the queue.

Boo says Boo Infinity may include some free super loves each week, depending on where you live, so the number you get can vary. Do not plan around a figure that may differ for you.

The value is plain. A woman with a long list of requests sees yours first. The cost is what it says about you. coach has said that a stronger signal like a super like brings your interest to her attention. But you give away a little power, so your messages afterward have to be good enough to recover. If you use the pink heart, make the first message calm and short. She already knows you like her, and a long eager paragraph on top of it is too much.

The heart count on a page

The heart or love number on a page is not a button. It is the total reactions that person has received from other users on Boo.

That means it measures how much she has engaged in the app, not how attractive she is or how serious she is about meeting. A big number can mean she posts a lot. A small one can mean she is new, or only uses the app to match.

Use it as one small clue and no more. A woman with a large count is probably used to a lot of attention, so a lazy first line will vanish. Write something specific to her.

How hearts level up your own account

Hearts also work for you. Boo says that earning more hearts through posts and comments levels up your crystal, which gives a coin reward and increases your daily souls.

This is the free way to see more people. If you take part in the communities, you earn reactions, and Boo turns them into a larger daily set to choose from. Posting something worth reacting to also shows women how you think and write, which helps more than a stack of extra profiles.

The other symbols near the hearts

The Match page has a few more icons, and they are easy to confuse with hearts. A red X passes on someone. A blue paper airplane sends a direct message. A yellow lightning bolt opens power-ups such as revival and time travel, and a blue spaceship starts a boost.

Another article on this site walks through each of those buttons. For this question, remember that only the blue and pink hearts are about showing interest.

Which heart to use

Use the blue heart for almost everyone you like. Save the pink one for the rare woman whose page really stops you, and for the nights you have the time to write to her properly.

Then do the part that decides the result. Your first photo, your answers and your first line decide whether she sends a heart back. A man with a good page and a single blue heart will beat a man with a weak page and a pink one.
