You match on Boo when two people have each sent love to the other. Open the Match page, look through the people it shows, and tap the blue heart on the ones you like. That sends a Request to their inbox, and when they send love back, you are matched and can exchange messages.
Open the Match page and set your filters
The Match page shows people you might be compatible with. Before you start, adjust the filters for gender, relationship type, age, personality type and distance.
Set them for the women you would actually take out. A wide filter fills the page with people you will never message, and scrolling through them wastes the daily set you get for free.
How a match actually happens
The blue heart shows interest and puts a Request in the other person's inbox. Nothing happens on your side until she answers.
If she sends love back to you, Boo counts it as a match, and the two of you can message each other. If she never answers, nothing happens. You can also see who liked you by going to Messages, then Requests, then Received, which is the quickest way to find women who have already said yes.
Start there each session. A woman who already sent you a heart is the easiest message you will write all day.
Super love and the direct message
Two other buttons change how you reach someone. The pink heart is a super love, and it pins your request to the top of her request inbox so she sees it first. The blue paper airplane skips the match step and sends a direct message.
a dating coach's view of the similar feature on other apps is cautious. A super like brings your interest to her attention, which can raise the odds she sees you. But it gives away a little power, so you have to be stronger in everything that comes after. Save the pink heart for the rare woman you really want, and send one light, specific line in your first message instead of a long, eager one.
The daily limit and what raises it
Boo shows a set number of compatible people each day for free, and it says you can send unlimited messages to your matches. That limit is why selectivity matters more on Boo than on an app with an endless stack.
You can raise the daily number by subscribing to Boo Infinity or by taking part in the Universe communities to earn love and level up. If you would rather not pay, posting and commenting in the communities is the free route, and it also gives women a look at how you write before they have decided about you.
Be choosy, because the app is watching
My warning about swiping on every profile applies here as well. He says apps tend to read a man who likes everyone as less attractive, and show him fewer attractive people in return. Being reported or unmatched a lot can also hurt how you are shown.
Boo has not said it works that way, and you do not need to prove it. A heart that means something is worth more than a hundred you handed out to be polite. Send love to women you would be glad to meet.
What to do the moment you match
A match is only permission to start a conversation. Most men let it go cold.
Write within a day, with one line about something specific on her page that is not her first photo, and end on a question she can answer in a sentence. My rule of thumb is that shorter is better, and that commenting on something she wrote seems more genuine than commenting on a picture.
Keep going for a few real exchanges, then suggest a plan with a place and a night, or a quick call. The aim of matching is to meet, and a conversation that never turns into a plan is just a pen pal.
If you are not matching at all
Check your first photo before you blame the app. A clear, well-lit picture of your face is what makes a woman send love back, and no setting on the Match page will make up for a dark or distant shot.
