Neither city is easy and neither is hard. What differs is the setting. New York gives you more strangers on foot at every hour, so it is the better city to learn approaching by day. Miami is a warm, social city built around going out, which makes it a good place to meet women at night and at the beach. The man matters more than the city, and both cities are where Cold Approach runs its Bootcamp.
Men type the same question as "how to meet women in NYC" or "how to meet women in NYC reddit". The honest answer is that the city shapes the situation, and your skill decides what you do with it.
Why New York works for approaching
a dating coach calls New York his number one city for game and, above all, his number one city for learning it. His reason is plain. The supply of strangers is close to endless, and the people out are often new to the city and looking to be social.
That matters because a bad approach costs very little. If you talk to a woman and it goes badly, you will almost certainly never see her again, and the whole thing is forgotten by the next block.
New York is also a walking city. A coffee shop or a bar is usually a short walk from wherever you stop a woman. Inviting her somewhere right then is practical, not a big production.
The catch is the street. A lot of people are walking fast with headphones in, or are packed into crowds where reaching them is hard. a dating coach leans toward parks for daytime, because a woman who came out to sit in a park came out to be around people.
Why Miami works for approaching
a dating coach describes Miami as a nightlife and party city that draws a lot of tourists. He also points to its warm weather, which means you can go out comfortably most of the year, and he notes there is more to the city than nightlife alone.
For a man learning, that gives you two good settings. By day, the beach and the cafes are relaxed places where people are not in a hurry. At night, bars and lounges fill with people who came out to meet others.
The catch is that Miami is spread out. South Beach, Wynwood, Brickell and the Design District are each a different scene, and Miami Beach is a separate city across the bay from the mainland. You pick where to spend your evening, and you cannot cover it all on foot.
Miami is also a city where women get approached often. She is used to attention, so a calm, warm hello does more than a loud one.
What a man should actually compare
Stop asking which city has better women and ask which one fits how you want to practice.
- Time of day. New York is stronger for daytime approaches, mostly in parks and cafes. Miami has a good beach by day, and its nightlife is the bigger draw after dark.
- Weather. New York has hot, humid summers and cold, damp winters. Miami is warm most of the year, with hurricane season to plan around.
- Getting around. New York works on foot and by subway, which runs around the clock. Miami asks you to choose an area for the night.
- Language. Spanish is common in Miami. A warm hello in either language costs nothing.
What about a particular type of woman
Some men search for how to meet Asian women or single women or trans women in NYC. The method is the same for all of them. You cannot tell from the sidewalk who is single or what her story is, and no neighborhood sorts women by type. You approach a woman you are drawn to, say hello, and find out who she is by talking. A trans woman is a woman, and she gets the same direct, respectful approach as anyone else.
Why the city matters less than reps
Men burn a lot of time on this question because it feels like progress. Choosing a city is easier than walking up to a stranger.
A man who approaches twenty women in a mediocre city will learn more than a man who spends a month researching the perfect one. The skill is in the doing: how you walk over, what your voice does, how you read her and how you leave when she is not interested.
Where the Bootcamp fits
Cold Approach runs its Bootcamp in Miami and New York only. Each training day is two four-hour blocks in the field, with daygame and nightgame mixed to suit the student. Group is three days at three students per coach at most, and Private is one, two or three days fully one-on-one.
If you are weighing the two cities, our pages on a Bootcamp in New York City and a Bootcamp in Miami explain how each one is arranged. A first-timer should read Can a Total Beginner Do a Dating Bootcamp? before booking.
