How to See Who Liked You on Hinge

Tap the Likes You tab at the bottom of the screen. When a woman likes you, Hinge puts a number badge on that tab, and opening it shows you who she is. On the free version you view one incoming like at a time and choose to match or skip, while Hinge+ and HingeX subscribers see everyone who has liked them at once.

Everything that comes in lands in Likes You. The badge on the tab is a number, so a glance at the bottom of your screen tells you likes are waiting.

A few kinds of like look different once you open the tab. A Rose sits at the top with a Rose icon on it, so you know she spent one on you. A like that came as a direct result of your Boost has a small lightning bolt next to her name.

One kind of like does not sit in the main list at all. Hinge runs a Comment Filter on incoming comments, and its Auto Filter is switched on by default once your app is on a version that has it. A like whose comment gets caught goes to a separate category called Hidden Likes, marked Comment Hidden.

Free members work through incoming likes one at a time. Each woman comes up on her own, and you either match with her or skip her.

You can choose the order. The selector in the upper left corner of Likes You lets every member sort by Your Type or by Recent.

Be careful with the skip. Hinge only lets you undo your most recent skip, and free members get a limited number of undos. That allowance is shared with Discover and Standouts, so a careless skip on a woman you actually liked can be hard to take back.

Hinge+ and HingeX both let you see everyone who has liked you at once. Subscribers also get two more options in that selector. Last Active shows likes from women who have used Hinge in the last 24 hours, and Nearby shows likes from women whose location is close to yours. Hinge says your subscription is private, so nobody else on the app can see that you pay.

Plenty of men refuse to pay for anything on a dating app because it feels needy. a dating coach calls that bias a hindrance. His advice is to test a paid feature, keep it if it makes a real difference, and drop it if it does not.

Seeing every like at once saves time when likes arrive steadily. You pick the women you most want to talk to, instead of meeting them in whatever order they come. If only one or two likes come in a week, a subscription shows you the same one or two. Work on what she sees first.

A like tells you she stopped on your page and wanted you to notice her back. It does not tell you she is a fit. Look at her whole page before you match, not only her first picture. Read her answers. Check that she lives close enough to see without a long drive, and that what she says she wants matches what you want.

If she left a comment, read it closely. It is the easiest opening line you will ever be handed, because she has already told you what she wants to talk about.

Getting liked feels good, and that feeling is why men match with women they would never have picked themselves.

Matching with a woman you have no plan to meet fills your Matches tab with chats you do not want, and it wastes her evening. A clean skip is kinder to both of you. Save your matches for the women you would actually take out this month.

If likes suddenly dry up, check your chats before you blame the app. Hinge has a rule called Your Turn Limits. When too many people are waiting on your reply, you cannot send or receive new likes until you answer them or end those conversations.

Hinge warns you as you get close. A progress bar appears above your Matches, and a pop-up tells you when you have reached the limit.

A like can also vanish from your list. Hinge says that means the woman deleted her Hinge profile, so nothing you did caused it.

To match, tap the Chat icon on her like, then either send a message or tap Match. She moves to your Matches tab, where the conversation lives.

Send the message rather than a silent match. If she commented, answer what she said and add a question of your own. If she did not, pick one detail from her page and react to it in a sentence or two.

Then keep it moving. Once the chat has had a few good back and forths, name a place and a day. A woman who liked you this week can be busy by next week, so the sooner a plan is on the table, the better.
