The price is on your own Subscription page, not in eharmony's help center. Log in and press Upgrade to Premium, and the page shows the membership terms and the cost for your account. What does not change is the shape of it: you start on a free Basic membership, and Premium, the paid tier that adds unlimited messaging, comes in 6-, 12- or 24-month plans.
Why you will not find one number
A fixed price printed in an article goes stale, and eharmony itself does not publish a single figure in its help center. It points members to the Subscription page instead. Anyone quoting you an exact amount without that page open is guessing.
eharmony runs its own Canadian site with its own FAQ for members there. If you live in Canada, the Canadian pages are written for your situation, so check there for anything specific to your plan.
What free actually covers
A Basic membership has no time limit. You can sign up, take the Compatibility Quiz, build your page and browse suggested members without paying anything. eharmony says Basic includes unlimited matches and the ability to send and receive Likes.
That means you can learn a lot before the question of cost even comes up. How many women near you fit your age range? Do any of them like you back? If the answers are discouraging, you have saved yourself a plan.
What Premium adds
Premium gives unlimited messaging, lets you see every member's photos, shows who has viewed you, adds distance search and gives you your Personality Profile.
Think about which of these you would actually use. Unlimited messaging only helps if the messages you write get answers. Seeing every photo helps you decide whom to write to, which is a small saving of time. Seeing who viewed you is interesting, but a view is not a reply.
Why there is no one-month option
eharmony says you cannot pay for just one month. The shortest Premium plan is six months, and the others run twelve and twenty-four.
For a man who has not tried the site, that is the main cost risk. You are committing to half a year or more on the strength of a few days of browsing. The free membership is the lower-commitment way to start, and eharmony says it periodically offers free trials to new members, which are worth waiting for if you are unsure.
Discounts
eharmony says it does not do coupons, so a promo code from a third-party site is not a thing to count on. It does sometimes offer discounts to Basic members. When one applies to you, it is shown on the Subscription page with the discount already included in the displayed cost.
The practical point is to look at the Subscription page more than once if you are thinking of buying, because the offer on the page is the offer that counts.
Six months is a long time to be wrong
Set the plan length against how fast you will know whether the site works. You can learn most of what you need in two or three weeks on Basic. By then you have taken the quiz, seen how many women near you fit your settings, and sent enough first messages to know whether any of them get answered.
If you wait until you know, the decision about plan length gets easy. A man with a few conversations going and a date in sight can pick a longer plan with confidence. A man with no replies has learned something that cost him nothing.
How you pay
eharmony takes four kinds of credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. It also takes debit cards that carry a Visa or Mastercard logo, and PayPal. Pick the method you can find easily on a statement, so that you can spot the charge and cancel it on time if you decide not to continue.
Spend where it counts
A plan only pays off if the rest of your page is working. a dating coach's rule for paid features on any dating app is to test them and judge them by what they produce, and that applies here as much as anywhere.
Before you pay, do the cheap things. Get two or three clear daylight photos where your face is visible. Answer the profile questions in whole sentences about real things you do. Write to women whose pages you liked, with one detail from their page in your first line.
Then keep count for two or three weeks: Likes returned, replies, plans to meet, and dates that happened. If replies are coming and you hit the free limit, Premium has a reason to exist. If replies are not coming, the money is better spent on better photos than on a longer subscription.
