Tinder Plus has no single price. Tinder's terms say it operates a global business and its pricing varies based on a number of factors. They add that it frequently offers promotional rates, which can vary by region, length of subscription, bundle size, past purchases and account activity. Its help center lists no fixed amount for any tier. The price a man is charged is the one the app shows him at the moment he buys.

What Tinder says about the price

Two statements from Tinder's terms explain why every forum answer differs.

The first is that its pricing varies based on a number of factors, because it runs a global business. The second is that promotional rates vary by region, length of subscription, bundle size, past purchases and account activity.

So a man in India, a man in the UK and a man in Australia can each be shown a different figure for the same tier. Even two men in the same city can differ, because past purchases and account activity are on the list. Treat any number you read online as one man's screen, not as the rule.

What the Plus price covers

The better question is what you are paying for. Tinder Plus includes unlimited daily Likes and unlimited Rewinds. It also has Passport Mode, hides the ads and lets you go incognito.

Take them one at a time.

  • Unlimited daily Likes. The free app limits how many Likes you can send in a day. Plus removes that limit.
  • Unlimited Rewinds. You can take back a swipe you made by mistake.
  • Passport Mode. You can set a location other than your own, which helps if you are traveling or moving.
  • Hidden advertisements. You stop seeing ads while you use the app.
  • Incognito. You can browse without being shown to everyone.

All of these change how you use the app. None of them changes who sees you.

What Plus leaves out

Gold includes everything in Plus and adds weekly Super Likes, one Boost per month and See Who Likes You. Platinum goes further with Prioritized Likes.

So Plus does not show you the women who already liked you, and it does not include the weekly Super Likes or the monthly Boost. A man who buys Plus expecting those features will be disappointed, and it is worth checking the list on the purchase screen before you confirm.

Who gets real use from Plus

Plus is a tool for removing friction. It pays off for a particular kind of man.

If you are good at choosing and you run out of daily Likes before you run out of women you would want to meet, the unlimited Likes matter. If you are traveling for work or about to move, Passport Mode lets you start meeting people before you arrive.

a dating coach says that on dating sites where you can pay to write to or match with more people, it is worth it in almost every case. You choose, instead of waiting for the algorithm to pick for you. That reasoning fits unlimited Likes, but only if you are Liking selectively.

Who can skip it

Plus does little for a man who is not using up his daily Likes. If you send a handful of Likes a day, unlimited ones change nothing.

It also cannot fix a weak first picture. My multiplier idea applies: a paid feature makes a working account bigger, and a weak account multiplied is still weak. If the free app gets you almost no matches, spend your effort on your pictures and what you say about yourself before you spend money.

Check the price the right way

Before you buy, open the app, tap the profile icon, go to Settings and look at the Plus option. That screen shows the price for your region and plan length.

Read two more things on it. Tinder says subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, for the price and time period you agreed to. And look at the plan length itself, because it also affects what you pay.

A simple way to test it

a dating coach's rule for any paid feature is to test it and drop it if it makes no real difference. Here is one way to do that with Plus.

  • Count your matches and replies over a stretch on the free app.
  • Pick the shortest plan on offer and use the unlimited Likes the way you normally would.
  • Count the same things over the same stretch.
  • Cancel before the renewal if the numbers did not move.

If the numbers moved, you have found a tool that earns its cost. If they did not, you have learned that your results are not limited by your Likes, and that is worth knowing before you spend more.
