There is no setting that hands you one. Bumble says it has no option to redeem promo codes, but it runs special offers from time to time that show up as banners in the app. Weekly SuperSwipes come with Boost and Premium, and Premium+ gives more. Beyond that, the only way to get one is to buy it. If you see a banner, read it, because that is where any real offer appears.

What a SuperSwipe is

A SuperSwipe lets a woman know you are especially interested before you match. She sees a clear indication that you went beyond a regular swipe.

You send one by tapping the star icon on her page. Bumble says it cannot be undone, so be sure it is the right woman before you tap.

Where the weekly ones come from

Boost includes a weekly allowance of SuperSwipes, and Premium+ includes a larger one. You get them by holding the plan, not by finishing a task.

They also run on a fixed week. Bumble says weekly SuperSwipes expire and refill on the day the original subscription was bought, so the ones you did not send are lost the following week.

You can check your balance from the Profile tab, at the top of the Pay plan page.

Buying them alone

SuperSwipes can also be bought on their own, in different quantities. This is the route for a man who wants one or two and does not want a plan.

It is still paying. The point of knowing it is that you can decide with the facts in front of you. A single SuperSwipe is a small purchase, and a subscription is a bigger one.

Offers and promo codes

Bumble says it does not have an option to redeem promo codes. It does run special offers now and then, and those appear as notification banners in the app.

That is the whole route to anything discounted. If a banner shows up, it is real, and it is in the app itself.

Time the weekly ones

Because weekly SuperSwipes refill on the day your subscription was first bought, that day is the one to remember. Anything you have not sent by then is lost.

If you are on a plan, aim to use them across the week and not on the last night. Pick the women you would be sad to miss, and spread the sends over a few days. A man who spends all of them at once on the first women he sees often finds none left for the one he really wanted.

What to skip

Skip any site, video or message that promises free SuperSwipes for a login, a survey or a download. Bumble's help pages describe no such thing, and a page that asks for your Bumble password has nothing to do with Bumble.

Give nobody your account details to get a feature. An account is your phone number and your chats, and losing it costs far more than one SuperSwipe.

How to get more from the free tools

You do not need a SuperSwipe to get a woman's attention. A page that earns likes does most of the work.

a dating coach says most apps do not reward swiping right on everyone, because the app can read it as being unselective and show you fewer of the women you want. Be choosy, and write to the women you match with quickly.

coach also likes one photo that gives her something to comment on, because it turns a quiet like into a question. A page with that photo gets more replies without a single paid feature.

What a SuperSwipe cannot do

It does not make her say yes. It makes her look. Bumble describes it as a way to let her know you are especially interested, and that is all it is, so a match still depends on what she finds on your page when she opens it.

If she does match with you, the first message is yours to make good. A woman who was singled out and then gets a flat opening line has been given a reason to lose interest.

When one is worth buying

Buy one for a specific woman you would be sorry to lose, and only once your page is in good shape. It cannot be undone, so the choice of woman matters more than the cost.
