How Do You Connect Spotify to Bumble?

You link it from the Connected Accounts section on Bumble, sign into Spotify when the pop-up asks, and approve the connection. Once it is linked, Bumble lets you pick up to ten artists to show on your page. You can unlink it any time by tapping the green tick in the same section.

1. Open your profile and tap "Edit profile."
2. Scroll down to the "Connected Accounts" section.
3. Select "Connect Spotify."
4. A pop-up asks you to sign into Spotify and authorize the connection.

That is the whole setup. It takes a couple of minutes, most of which is choosing the artists.

Go back to "Edit profile," scroll to "Connected Accounts," and tap the green tick to unlink your account. Do this if you would rather keep your music to yourself.

Bumble's page on the People tab says that when someone scrolls through a person's page, the details include photos, bio, interests, and the Spotify artists they like. So your artists sit on the same page as everything else she is weighing up.

Bumble's own tips mention Spotify favorites alongside your job and education as details that make your page feel more like you. That is the real point of it. Music is one of the fastest ways to show taste without writing a sentence about yourself.

Ten artists is a small space, and it gets read quickly. Use it deliberately.

Pick what you actually listen to. She may bring one of them up, and you want to be able to say something real about it, a favorite album, a show you went to, the song you have on repeat. If you added an artist to look interesting, it shows the moment she asks.

Mix it up. Ten artists from one genre tell her one thing. Two or three genres, including something she might not expect, make her curious. A man with a punk band next to a jazz pianist next to a pop star he is not ashamed of is more interesting than a man with ten indie bands in a row.

Keep one surprise. The unexpected name is the one that gets a message. "I did not have you down as a country fan" is an opener she can write in three seconds, and it gives you an easy story to tell.

Skip anything that works against you. If an artist is known mainly for lyrics you would not say out loud on a first date, think about whether you want that on your page.

On Bumble, once you match, each of you gets one opening message, and you both have 72 hours from matching to send it. Bumble's tips for that message include mentioning a shared interest, and a shared artist is exactly that.

The weak version is "I like them too." It gives her nothing to do but agree.

The better version asks for her opinion:

• "You have them on your list too, so settle this. Best album, and you are not allowed to say the obvious one."
• "Anyone with this artist on their list has been to at least one show they regret. What was yours?"
• "Your list is half great and half deeply suspicious. Explain the second half."

Each of these gives her something to argue with or a story to tell, and both of those are easier to answer than a question about her week.

Music is also one of the easiest things to turn into a plan. If you both like an artist, a show in your city is a ready-made reason to meet. If you like the same kind of music, a bar with a good band on a weeknight is a relaxed first date.

Keep it simple and specific. "There is a place near me with live jazz on Thursdays. Come find out if it is as good as I claim." That takes the shared taste off the screen and puts it somewhere you are both sitting across a table.

You do not need it. Your photos, your interests and your prompts can show your taste in other ways. A photo from a show, a prompt about the best concert you have been to, or music as one of your five interests covers the same ground.

What matters is that something on your page gives her an easy way in. Spotify is just one quick way to add that.
