Tap the filters icon at the top left of the Zapping screen. Then either enter a country and city by hand or pick one of your recent locations. Jaumo says changing your location needs a Plus membership or higher, which includes Travel Mode for connecting with people anywhere in the world.
The steps
Open Zapping and tap the filters icon in the top left corner. Choose a location, either by typing the country and city or by selecting from the recent ones. Pick the city you will really be in. If you are unsure of a spelling, use a recent location instead of typing it out. Then apply the change.
After the location updates, you start seeing users from the area you chose in Zapping. Jaumo says your Zapping stack refreshes after you tap Apply Filters, so give it a moment before you decide it did nothing.
What you need first
Jaumo says extended filters and location changes require a Plus or higher membership. If you are on the free tier, the option will not do what you want.
Test whether the paid tier is worth it before you commit to it. a dating coach's view on paid dating features is that they are worth it in a lot of cases, with a point where the cost stops making sense. The way to find that point is to try it for a short time and count the results.
The other place to adjust it
You can also change the location filter in the Nearby section, which sits at the top of the Communities tab. Nearby is where you see people close to you, so it is the better place for a quick look at a different area.
If you are only curious who is around, start there. If you want your Zapping feed to switch to another city, use the filters icon.
What distances really mean
Jaumo says it never discloses users' exact locations. The distances you see on profiles are straight-line distances, not driving or walking time.
That matters when you plan a date. A woman who is ten kilometers away in a straight line may be much further by road. Ask where she is coming from before you pick a bar.
Using Travel Mode honestly
The sensible use is a trip. If you will be in another city next month, change the location a few days ahead, find women there, and arrange to meet while you are in town.
Be straight about it. A woman will plan around where you actually live, so do not let her believe you are local when you are visiting. A line such as "I'm in town through Saturday" does the job and also makes a plan feel urgent in a good way. It gives her a reason to pick a day.
Do not use a changed location to appear somewhere you are not. A woman who drives across town to meet a man from another city will not forgive it. Jaumo's guidelines also ban catfishing, which means posing as someone you are not.
Make the most of the trip
My approach to the apps is to get from the first message to a number and then a date without much delay. A trip suits that, because the clock is already running. Message early, keep the conversation light and specific, suggest a day and a place, and move to texting once she agrees. Tell her plainly where you are, how long you are there and one thing you want to do while you are in town. That gives her something to say yes to.
Set your location when you land, not months before. A location set too early gives you conversations that cannot turn into dates.
When the trip ends, change it back. Otherwise you will keep matching with women in a city you have left, and each conversation will go nowhere.
If the option is missing
If you cannot find the filters icon, make sure you are on the Zapping screen, since that is where it sits. If the location option asks you to upgrade, that is the Plus requirement.
If the app seems stuck after you change it, close it and reopen it, and check that Apply Filters was tapped.
The short answer
On Zapping, tap the filters icon at the top left, enter a country and city or pick a recent one, and apply the filters. You need Plus or higher. Use it for a real trip, tell women where you actually are, and change it back when you get home.
