No. You do not need any dating experience, and you do not need a number of approaches behind you. A Cold Approach Bootcamp has no skill floor. A man who has never spoken to a stranger in public and a man who has gone out for years are both coached from where they stand. Experience can even work against you, which is covered below.
What to know first
- There is no experience requirement and no skill test.
- You are not sent to online coaching or to 1-on-1 first.
- Every training day is two four-hour blocks in the field, in Miami or New York.
- The coach watches how you actually approach and starts from that.
- Group and Private both work for men at any level.
Why no experience is needed
A Bootcamp does not assume you know anything. The days are built around the real thing: walking up to a woman, starting a conversation, and finding out what happens. The coach is next to you for each approach and corrects it afterward.
Because every training day covers four parts as they come up, approaching and conversation, attraction and delivery, numbers and dates, and rejection and follow-through, nothing waits on a previous lesson. You do not have to pass a level before the next one opens. The coach picks what to work on based on what he sees you do.
a dating coach's standard for a first-timer is deliberately low: "If instead, your criteria for a good approach is: physically walk up to a girl and utter a sound. That's something anyone can do." A man with zero experience can meet that on day one.
What men with no experience get
For a man who has never approached, the Bootcamp does a few things quickly:
- It makes the first approach happen with someone beside him, so it is not a solo leap.
- It shows him that a hello costs very little. a dating coach explains why this works: "Progressive desensitization works like a charm for approach anxiety because it very rapidly gives your brain evidence that talking to girls isn't really that scary."
- It gives him good habits from the start, before bad ones set in.

What men with a lot of experience get
A man with years of experience often arrives with a different problem. He approaches, but his results do not match his effort. He may repeat the same habit hundreds of times without knowing it.
One of our students went out alone for three years before he booked a Private Bootcamp. He approached now and then, it usually went nowhere, and he never knew why. Three days with a coach beside him showed it: he talked for about thirty seconds before he let her say a word. Once he saw the habit, he could fix it himself.
A man who practices alone cannot see his own mistakes, because he is inside them. A coach sees them in a few sets. That is why experience does not make a Bootcamp unnecessary, and why a man with more repetitions can sometimes make faster use of the days.
When experience gets in the way
Experience can harden into habits and beliefs that slow you down. Two common ones:
"I already know how this works." A man who is sure he knows the answer stops listening to the coach. The students who improve most are the ones who treat every correction as new information.
Old routines. If you have memorized openers or a script, you will probably say them stiffly, and the coach will ask you to drop them and talk normally. It can feel like a step backward, and it is usually the step that helps.
a dating coach describes how little the words matter next to how you come across, and notes that trying to fix your body language by thinking about it tends to make it worse. What fixes it is practice with feedback, which is what you get in the field.
What experience does help with
A few things carry over from prior experience:
- You may be less afraid of the first hello.
- You may know which settings you like, daytime or night.
- You may already have a list of problems you want to fix, which helps your coach start.
None of these is required, and none of them replaces coaching.
What to bring instead of experience
You need three things, and none of them is experience:
- Willingness to be corrected. The coach says what he sees right away.
- The days. Each training day is eight hours.
- A reason you want to do this. It keeps you in the field when it gets uncomfortable.
Group or Private
Either format works. Group has no more than three students per coach, so you see the coaching others receive. Private is fully one-on-one for one, two or three days, with longer programs on request. If being watched worries you, choose Private. Group or Private compares them.
Questions men ask
What if I have never spoken to a woman I did not know?
You are welcome, and the Bootcamp specializes in this.
Should I practice first?
A few easy hellos help, and they are optional.
Will an experienced man be bored?
The coach works on your own sticking points, whatever your level. A man with experience gets feedback on habits he cannot see himself.
