Ordinary messages on Feeld do not expire. Feeld does not describe a time limit after which chat messages disappear. What does expire is a photo sent with a timer, and a whole chat can end when someone disconnects, blocks you or closes their account.

Normal chat has no clock

A message you send in a Feeld chat stays in the chat. You will not open a conversation from last month and find it blank because of its age.

That is why a missing message almost always has a cause you can name. Someone unsent it, edited it, or the chat itself ended. It is rarely the app tidying up.

Photos with a timer do expire

You can send photos in chats with a timer, so they expire 5, 10 or 15 seconds after they are opened.

Once that time is up, the photo is gone from the chat. If a woman sends you one, do not plan on being able to look at it again later. If you send one, she may only get a few seconds with it, so pick the photo you want her to see and make sure it is a good one.

You can edit and unsend

You can edit a message you sent for up to 15 minutes after sending. You can unsend a message at any time, including ones older than 15 minutes.

Both are tools for you, and both apply to her. A message from her that reads differently than you remember may carry an edited tag. A bubble that has been removed was unsent. Neither is the app expiring anything.

When someone disconnects

If a connection disconnects from you, the chat history stays viewable for 30 days from the time of disconnection.

That is the nearest thing to an expiry on the app, and it is worth knowing. If the chat holds a plan, a place or a name you need, copy it down within that window.

The other direction is harder. If you disconnect from someone, the chat history is deleted for both of you, and it cannot be undone. Do not disconnect in a bad mood from a chat you may want to read later.

When a chat pauses or disappears

If a connection pauses their account, the chat stays in your list and shows Account paused. You cannot send messages, and you can continue from where you left off if they return. Nothing has expired.

If a member terminated their account or blocked you, the chat disappears from your chat list, and the history cannot be recovered. You have not done something wrong by looking for it. It is simply gone.

What this means for how you write

Since an ordinary chat lasts, the useful question is what is in it.

a dating coach keeps early texts short, and aims for a handful of messages between the first one and her number, because every message should do a job. A long paragraph in the first chat is a lot for a woman to answer, and it is the kind of message a man later wishes he could take back.

Write one idea per message. Ask one easy question. Mention something from her page, so she can see you read it. When she answers, answer in kind, and when the conversation is warm, suggest a time and place to meet instead of letting the chat run for weeks. A chat that never becomes a plan is the one most likely to end by someone going quiet.

Feeld is not the place to keep a conversation alive for months anyway. Chats that matter move to a number and then to a date.

What not to do

Do not screenshot a chat to keep a record, and do not ask a woman what she unsent. Both look needy and neither gets you anywhere. If a message vanished, carry on as if it did not.

The short version

Ordinary Feeld messages do not expire. Timed photos expire after 5, 10 or 15 seconds, edits are open for 15 minutes, and unsending is open at any time. A disconnect leaves history viewable for 30 days. If you disconnect, the history is deleted for both of you. A block or a closed account removes the chat for good.
