Why Can You Not Pick a Travel Mode Location You Used Before?

Bumble says that if you cannot select a Travel Mode location you used before, it may be because its service is no longer available there. The fix it gives is simple: update your Travel Mode location and choose from the options it does offer.

Start by searching again for where you are going, in the Travel setting under Location. Look at what the search returns.

If the exact place is missing, think about where you will actually spend your free evenings, and check whether a larger place nearby comes up in the search. If it does, and your evenings will be there anyway, pick it. You are choosing where the women you see will be, so choose the place you can realistically meet someone.

If the whole region is missing, Travel Mode will not help for that trip, and it is better to know that before you pay for anything or plan around it.

So run the search early. Open the Travel setting a week or two before you go, while you are still at home, and look for the place. A missing location is a small surprise on your sofa. It is a real problem when you discover it at the airport.

When a location vanishes, some men look for ways to force it back. Leave that alone.

If part of your trip is in a place Bumble serves and part is not, put your swiping where it counts.

Set Travel Mode for the stop that is available, a few days before you get there. Bumble's help page says a Travel Mode search shows you people from that area for the next seven days, which is enough for a short stay. Use those days to line up an evening in that city, and accept that the other stop will run without the app.

If you have matches at home, keep them warm before you go. Tell them you will be away and when you are back, so the conversation has a reason to wait instead of fading.

In the city Travel Mode does cover, make every first message count. The travel mode banner on your profile already tells her you are visiting. Add the facts she needs: when you arrive, how long you stay, and which evenings are free.

Then point toward a place and a night. A short visit is a good reason to meet soon, and a woman who knows exactly when you are around can say yes without a week of back and forth.

The missing location is a small setback. What decides the trip is the same as always: whether the conversations you do start turn into evenings.
