Favorites show up in your Chats tab. Open a conversation and tap the star icon next to the chat to favorite her. To see only your favorites, tap the filter icon at the top of the Chats tab and choose You favorited. Seeing who favorited you is a Badoo Premium feature.
How to favorite someone
There are two ways to do it, depending on where you find her.
From the Chats tab, open the conversation and tap the star icon next to her chat. From the Discover tab, open her page, tap the three dots in the top right corner and choose Add to Favorites.
Both do the same thing. A favorite is a bookmark for you, a way of marking the women you care about most. It is a separate action from the heart you tap in Encounters, so do not count on it to start a match.
How to remove a favorite
In Chats, tap the star again. In Discover, tap the three dots on her page and choose Remove from favorites. If you favorited someone on impulse, or the conversation has gone cold, take her off the list so it stays useful.
How to filter your messages by favorites
Tap the filter icon at the top of the Chats tab. You will see two choices: You favorited and Favorited you. The first shows the women you starred. The second shows who starred you.
The first is free. The second needs a Badoo Premium subscription, so it is one of the reasons men pay. Whether that is worth paying for is a separate question, and it only makes sense if women are already favoriting you.
Favorites are the closest thing to a saved list
Badoo has no section that lists the people you have liked. Women you liked can show up again in Encounters or Discover, and you have no tidy place to find them. That surprises men who liked someone, got distracted, and then could not find her.
Favorites fix that for the women who matter most. If you open a woman's page and think she is someone you would like to meet, star her then, while you are looking. It takes two taps, and it spares you hunting for her later.
If favorites are missing
Badoo keeps a list of known issues it is working on, and one of them is that Favourites and Visitors are not visible for some members. If you cannot find yours, that may be the reason, and it is not something you did wrong.
Badoo's advice for any app problem applies. Update the app, close it fully and reopen it, and log out and back in. If it is still missing, contact Support and describe what you see.
How to use favorites well
A favorite is a way of keeping score of your own attention. Most men have far more conversations open than they can follow, and the ones that matter get lost under the ones that do not.
Use the star for women you would genuinely like to meet. Check that list first each time you open the app. If a woman you favorited has been warm for a few messages, suggest a plan. a dating coach's approach is to bring up a plan early and lightly, rather than letting a chat drift for a week.
A short favorites list also tells you something honest. If you have ten women starred and no plans, the trouble is not the list. It is that you are not turning the conversations into dates.
Do not read too much into who favorited you
If you see that a woman favorited you, it is a good sign, but it is not an invitation to write her an essay. Open her page, look at what she shows, and send a short message that picks up one detail. A favorite tells you she noticed you. It does not tell you she will meet you, so treat it like a match and move toward a plan.
