A single man who wants more dates needs very little gear. The useful items are small. Bring a phone or small camera to review your own conversations. Add mints, protection, an active Instagram account and a decent pair of sunglasses. If you travel, add a paid dating app. None of them makes you attractive. They remove excuses and make you ready when a good moment appears.

Here is the list, with the reason each one earns a place.

A way to film yourself

The fastest way to improve is to see what you actually do. Your voice, your face and your posture look different on video than they feel from the inside. A small gimbal camera works, and your phone works nearly as well.

Hold it low at chest height while you approach, or leave a recording running in your pocket for audio. Afterward, watch for the moments you want to change: the flat tone, the closed shoulders, the nervous laugh. Women do not usually mind a phone that is not pointed at them. Be honest if one asks, and stop if she objects.

On a Cold Approach Bootcamp, filming is a paid add-on. Many students use it to see in an hour what would take a month to notice alone.

Mints or gum

Carry them every time you leave home, even on a plain Tuesday. You never know when a conversation will turn into an instant date, and bad breath ends it. A small tin in your pocket takes no space and removes one worry.

Protection

It sounds obvious, and many men still do not have it. If you walk out for an evening without any, you are quietly telling yourself that nothing will happen. Carrying it is practical, and it also tells your mind you are a man to whom good things can happen. Keep it in a front pocket or a small wallet slot, not at the bottom of a bag at home.

An active Instagram account

Most women under about thirty-five use it daily. When she meets a new man, she checks him out first. A profile with real photos of you doing real things reassures her in thirty seconds.

It is also easier for a woman to give her Instagram than her phone number, which feels more private. When a woman hesitates over a number, asking for her handle is a smooth step, and you can move from there to a voice note or a plan.

A decent pair of sunglasses

They do two jobs. In daylight they keep the sun out of your eyes. In an approach, taking them off slowly before you say something real can make the moment feel a little more serious and a little more intentional. It is a small piece of theater, and plenty of men find it helps. Spend very little. Brand does not matter, and you will lose them.

A paid dating app, if you travel

Online dating is not the best way to meet women, but it has one clever use. Many apps let a paying user change location, so you can match and plan dates in a city before you land. Arriving with a first evening already planned is a good feeling.

If you are going to use the apps at all, take the profile seriously. Good photos, a clear opening message and a short bio change your results more than anything else.

A few small items that make a date smoother

These cost almost nothing and are worth having at hand:

  • A clean, fitted jacket or layer you can add or remove.
  • A good pair of shoes, since she will notice them.
  • A phone with enough battery and a small portable charger.
  • A bit of cash for places that do not take cards.

What to do when gear is not the problem

No object substitutes for the skill of walking up and starting a conversation. A man with perfect gear who never approaches gets the same results as one with none. The list above is support. The real work is practice, and the best place for practice is next to a coach who can tell you what to change.

If you want to build that skill fast, a Cold Approach Bootcamp puts you in front of real women for two four-hour blocks a day with a coach beside you. If you want to talk through where you are first, a call with one of our coaches is a good starting point.
