A SuperCrush someone sends you shows up in your Messages, in a SuperCrush section that sits above all your other messages. Tap it to open their page, then tap Accept to turn it into a Crush, or tap Refuse if you do not want to cross paths with that person again. You can also tap the three dots next to the SuperCrush and choose the check mark to accept or the x to refuse.

Where it shows up

You do not have to go looking for it. Received SuperCrushes sit in their own section at the top of your Messages, above every other conversation.

The separate spot makes sense. A SuperCrush is the one way on the app for someone to reach you before you have a Crush, so it is kept apart from your ordinary chats.

Tap it and you see who sent it, along with any message she attached. She may have reacted to one of your photos, your description or the place your paths crossed. Or she may have sent it with no words at all.

Accepting or refusing

You have two choices, and two ways to make each one.

From her page, tap Accept to turn the SuperCrush into a Crush, which is happn's word for a match. The chat then opens like any other. Tap Refuse if you are not interested and do not want to cross paths with her again.

If you would rather not open her page first, tap the three dots next to the SuperCrush in your Messages. The check mark accepts it. The x refuses it.

Refusing is clean. You do not have to send a polite no or explain yourself. You simply stop crossing paths on the app.

If you are not sure about her

If you are on the fence, open her page and take a proper look before you decide.

Then weigh what each choice costs. Accepting only opens a chat, and a chat commits you to nothing. Refusing is more final, because you will not cross paths with her on happn again.

So when in doubt, lean toward accepting and having a short conversation. A few messages will tell you more than her photos can. If it goes nowhere, let it go quiet. If you already know she is not for you, refuse and move on without guilt.

What it tells you about her

A SuperCrush is not a casual tap. A normal Like on happn is secret, so a woman who wanted to stay safe could have used one and waited. She chose the version that tells you straight away.

That is a real signal of interest, and it is worth taking at face value. It does not mean she is already sold, though. It means she was interested enough to go first. What you write back decides whether that turns into a date.

The mistake men make here is to relax. They accept the Crush, feel flattered, and wait for her to carry the conversation. She has already done the hard part. The next step is yours.

Reply to what she actually said

If she attached a message, answer it. Accepting in silence wastes the one thing she handed you.

a dating coach's approach to messages is to keep them short and to tease where he can. If she teased you about your photo, tease her back. If she mentioned the café you both apparently use, run with it.

If she sent it with no words, you get to open. The same rules apply. Pick one specific thing from her page, ideally something she wrote rather than a photo. a dating coach finds that a comment on her words reads as genuine, while a comment on her looks reads as superficial. On happn, the place you crossed paths is an easy, natural opener that nobody else has.

Move toward a date sooner

A woman who sent you a SuperCrush has already told you she is interested, which makes a plan an easier ask than usual.

a dating coach aims to get from the app to her number within four to seven messages. With a SuperCrush you can often be at the shorter end of that. Keep a few messages of light back and forth going, then suggest something simple near where you crossed paths. You both know the area, so the plan is easy to agree to.

Letting a chat like this drift for days is an easy way to lose it. Interest that arrived warm cools quickly when nothing happens.

If something feels off

Most SuperCrushes are exactly what they look like. Now and then, one is not.

Be wary of anyone who wants you off the app and onto another messaging service before you have exchanged more than a few lines. And end it at once if money ever comes up, whatever the story. A real woman who is interested in you wants a date, not a transfer.
