Yes. Hinge says any feedback you share through We Met is completely private, and that it will never share date feedback with your existing or future matches. What it learns is used only to improve its algorithm and to keep the Hinge community safe and respectful.
What Hinge promises
Hinge's We Met help page is direct about this. It says feedback shared through We Met is completely private. It says Hinge will never share date feedback with existing or future matches. And it says what Hinge learns from We Met will only be used to improve the algorithm and to make sure the community stays safe and respectful.
Hinge's trust and safety page says the same thing in shorter form. The feedback is private, and it helps keep the community safe.
So the woman you went out with will not see whether you said you would see her again. Neither will anyone you match with later.
What We Met asks, and what happens to the answer
We Met arrives a few days after you and a match exchange phone numbers. Hinge asks whether you went on a date, and if you did, whether she is the type of person you would like to see again.
If you say you do not want a second date, Hinge says it will consider that when recommending new people to you. That is the use it describes: shaping who you see next, not telling her anything.
Why the privacy matters for how you answer
Because no match ever sees your answer, there is no reason to be diplomatic. Your audience is Hinge itself, and the system that picks your future matches.
That makes honesty the useful choice. A polite "yes" about a date you did not enjoy can tell Hinge you want more women like her. An honest "no" helps it steer you elsewhere. The same goes the other way: if you liked her, say so, even if the evening ended awkwardly.
You are not grading her as a person. You are telling the app whether she was your type, so it can get better at finding your type.
If you are unsure, go with your gut about one plain question: would you want to spend another evening with her? That is close to what Hinge asks, and a quick honest answer to it is worth more than a careful, hedged one.
Reporting through We Met
We Met also works as a way to report a date who was disrespectful. Hinge's help page says you can report that person through We Met, and you can reach it from the three dots in the top right corner of your conversation with her.
Reports have their own rules. Hinge's reporting page says reporting is confidential and permanent, and that you will not see each other's profiles again. The trust and safety page says reporting is anonymous, to protect your safety.
So an honest report is protected in the same way as honest feedback. Use it for real problems, though. Hinge's trust and safety page also says it does not tolerate deliberate misuse of its reporting features, including false reports.
A real problem is the kind of thing Hinge's reporting page says it has zero tolerance for. Lewd behavior, threats and harassment are all on that list, whether they happen on the app or in real life. A date who was simply dull, late or not your type is a "no" in We Met, not a report.
What your date can still work out
Your answer is private. Your behavior after the date is not.
If you tell We Met you do not want to see her again, Hinge does not pass that on to her. But she will notice if you stop replying, or if you unmatch. Hinge's help page on unmatching says the conversation disappears and cannot be restored, so from her side the chat is simply gone.
If you liked her, none of this matters. Text her. If you did not, a short, polite message saying you enjoyed meeting her but did not feel it is kinder than silence, and it closes things cleanly.
Use the date as well as the survey
We Met helps Hinge learn about your taste. The date itself should teach you something too.
If you often answer "no" because she was not what her page suggested, spend more time reading pages before you like, and try a short phone or video call before the date. A ten-minute call tells you a lot and saves you evenings you would rather have spent elsewhere.
If you wanted a second date and did not get one, look at the date honestly. a dating coach's view is that the usual reason is not one mistake. It is a date that stayed an interview, with no teasing, no flirting and no tension. That is fixable, and it will do more for your results than any setting in the app.
The short answer
Your We Met feedback is private. Hinge says it never shares it with current or future matches and uses it only to improve recommendations and keep the app safe. Answer honestly, report real problems, and handle the goodbye yourself.
