To meet girls on vacation, stay somewhere social, go out on your first night and say hello to people early and often. Travelers mix at the beach and the pool by day, the hotel bar at sunset and the busy streets at night. Many of the women there are on holiday too, relaxed and open to meeting someone new. The one real difference from home is time. You have days, not months, so you suggest the drink sooner and make plans for tonight or tomorrow.
Pick a place where people mix
Some trips make this hard before you leave. A quiet villa an hour from town, a family resort or a cabin by a lake are great for rest and poor for meeting anyone. If meeting women is part of the plan, choose a base in a walkable area with bars, a beach or a square where people gather after dark.
Beach towns, party islands and cities with a real nightlife district all work. a dating coach describes Miami as a warm weather vacation spot that draws a steady stream of attractive visitors, which is exactly the mix you want. He also warns about Las Vegas: plenty of women there treat a fling as part of the vacation, not the start of anything serious. Know which kind of trip you are on.
Stay where you can bring a date back
This is the mistake coach sees men make again and again. They book a hostel with a strict no guests rule, or a hotel with a man at the door checking every face, and then meet a woman they like on the second night with nowhere to go.
Read the guest policy before you book. Pick a room close to where you will be going out, so the walk back is five minutes rather than a forty minute cab ride. None of this matters on the first night, and all of it matters on the third.
Go out the first night
You will be tired from the flight. Go out anyway, even for an hour.
The first two days of a trip are when people sort themselves into groups. The couple from the pool, the three women from the boat tour and the bartender who remembers your name all become people you keep running into. A man who spends the first night in his room starts the trip two days behind.
Where to find girls on vacation, hour by hour
Mornings are slow. A walk along the beach, a coffee at a busy cafe and the breakfast area of your hotel are low pressure places to say hello.
Afternoons belong to the pool, the beach bar and anything sold as a group activity: boat trips, snorkeling tours, food tours, a cooking class. A shared activity hands you a topic and a few hours next to the same people.
Evenings start at whatever spot everyone visits for the sunset, then move to the rooftops and the main bar street. The later it gets, the more groups split up, and the easier it is to talk to a woman who has drifted away from her friends.
Why it feels easier away from home
Lots of men who are nervous in their own city find themselves talking to everyone on a trip. coach has watched it happen many times. He says a vacation, a bachelor party or a bootcamp each puts a man in a different world, where he can be a different person and approach freely.
Part of it is that nobody knows you. A no on vacation costs less, because you will never see that bar again. That is an inference rather than a rule, and the ordinary rules of respect still apply. If she is short with you, wish her a good night and move on.
The other part is that you gave yourself permission. That permission is available at home too, on any Tuesday.
Keep the timeline short and honest
Picking up girls on vacation goes wrong when men act like they have all summer. You leave on Sunday. Spending three days building up to a drink means you get one evening together, or none.
Be direct instead. If a conversation at the pool goes well, suggest the beach bar that evening. If she is out with friends, invite the whole group to the place you are heading next. When she asks how long you are in town, tell her, and let the short window make the plan feel natural. Swap numbers or Instagram the first time you talk, because plans on a trip change by the hour.
Bring it home with you
The man you are on vacation is the same man who goes back to work on Monday. The skill that carried you through the trip, walking over and saying hello before you talk yourself out of it, can be trained on purpose. Cold Approach's Bootcamp does that in person in Miami and New York. Each training day is two four-hour blocks out in the city, by day and at night in whatever mix suits you, and a coach gives you feedback right after every approach. Group runs three straight days with no more than three men to a coach, and Private is 1-on-1 for one, two or three days. Beginners are welcome. If you lock up before the first hello, that is the exact problem the coaches specialize in.
