It depends on your plan. Boost and Premium each come with a small weekly allowance of SuperSwipes, and Premium+ comes with a larger one. Outside the plans, you can also buy SuperSwipes as single-use packs in different sizes. The app shows your exact balance at any time, so you never have to guess.
Where the weekly allowance comes from
Your weekly SuperSwipes are part of your subscription. Boost includes them, Premium includes everything in Boost, so it carries the same allowance, and Premium+ gives you more of them each week than either.
Bumble lists the exact numbers for each plan on its help page about paid features. Your own balance is on the Profile tab, at the top of the Pay plan page, and that is the number to trust.
The allowance also runs on a weekly clock. Unused SuperSwipes expire on the same day of the week that you first bought your subscription, and that same day your next batch arrives. They do not pile up. A SuperSwipe you save for a special occasion is gone by the following week if you never send it.
What a SuperSwipe actually tells her
A SuperSwipe goes out before you have matched. Bumble says that when you SuperSwipe someone, she sees a clear sign that you went beyond a regular swipe.
That is one piece of information, and it cuts both ways. The upside is that she knows you picked her on purpose, which gets you a second look from a woman who might have scrolled past. The downside is that you have shown your hand before she has decided anything. You cannot play it casual later, because you already told her you are keen.
That trade is the whole decision. A SuperSwipe can get you noticed by a woman who might otherwise scroll past. It also gives away a little of your position, so the messages that follow have to be good.
A SuperSwipe carries no words
Men often expect a SuperSwipe to say something for them. It does not. Bumble describes it as a sign that you went beyond a regular swipe.
If you want to say something before you match, that is a different feature. Bumble's Notes, which it used to call Compliments, let you send a short message before matching, based on something that caught your eye on her page. Premium+ includes a weekly allowance of Notes, and they can also be bought separately.
The difference matters when you choose which to use. A SuperSwipe says she stood out. A Note can say why. When you have a real reason to pick her, the Note is often the stronger of the two, because the reason travels with it.
The count matters less than the aim
Men who ask how many SuperSwipes they get are usually planning to use all of them. That is the wrong way round.
A SuperSwipe spent on autopilot is just an ordinary like with a label on it. Spend your whole allowance on the first attractive faces you see and the signal stops meaning anything, because you sent it to women you barely looked at.
A few spent deliberately do far more. Three sent with a real reason behind each will do more for you than a full allowance sent at random.
Who to spend them on
Before you send one, ask yourself exactly why her. If the answer is a specific detail from her page, send it. If the answer is only that she is pretty, hold it.
Maybe she wrote an opinion you disagree with. Maybe one of her photos was taken somewhere you know well. Maybe she mentioned a book, a sport, or a job you have a real story about. That reason is what turns the SuperSwipe from a loud like into the start of a good conversation.
If you cannot name the reason, give her an ordinary like. It costs you nothing and it does not set up expectations you cannot meet.
What to send if she matches back
The SuperSwipe bought you her attention. Your first message decides what she does with it.
Use the reason you picked her. If her page mentioned a trip to Lisbon, ask about the one thing she would do there again. If she wrote that pineapple belongs on pizza, argue with her, lightly. A SuperSwipe followed by "hey" undoes itself. The swipe said she caught your eye, and the message shows you cannot say why.
Keep it to one or two sentences, and end on something she can answer in a line.
Should you buy more?
Buy a pack only once the weekly ones are working. That means the women you SuperSwipe match back at a better rate than your ordinary likes, and those matches turn into real conversations.
If they do not, more SuperSwipes will not fix it. The issue is either the photos she is reacting to or the first line you send, and neither one improves with a bigger balance.
