Luxy starts with a review. Every newcomer has to pass it within the first 24 hours before becoming a member, and you must be at least 18 to join. Once you are in, you go to the Match page and swipe right or tap Like on the women you are interested in. When two people like each other it becomes a match, and you can chat for free with all your matches.
The review comes first
Luxy does not let anyone straight in. A new account goes through a review before it becomes a member, and Luxy says that review happens within the first 24 hours.
Treat what you submit as the finished version, not a draft. The same photos and words that get you through the review are what women see afterwards, so rushing it gains you nothing.
Luxy's help center adds a rule worth knowing from day one. Until your photo is verified, you can send only one message. Verify before you start talking to anyone, or your first good conversation will stall after a single line.
Getting your account ready before the review
Luxy says its review team looks mainly at your bio, your occupation and your photos, so those three deserve most of your effort.
Lead with a recent photo where your face is clear, then add a few that show your actual life: friends, travel, the things you do on a weekend. Keep them sharp and bright, and skip anything heavily filtered. Write a bio with specific, true details rather than lines anyone could claim. Describe your occupation plainly. Then verify your photo, which Luxy recommends because it shows you are real.
An hour spent here does two jobs at once. It gets you through the review, and it is the same set of photos and words every woman on Luxy will see afterwards.
Liking on the Match page
The Match page is where you browse. You swipe right or tap Like on a woman you would like to take out, and nothing comes of it unless she likes you back.
Be choosy. Liking everyone who crosses the screen fills your chat list with women you have no real interest in. It spreads your attention thin just when the good conversations need it. Like the women you would genuinely be pleased to see walk into the bar.
Look past the first photo before you decide. Her other photos and what she wrote tell you far more about whether you would enjoy an evening together, and they give you something real to open with if you match.
When it becomes a match
A match happens when both of you like each other. That is worth pausing on, because it changes how you should approach the first message.
She has already said yes to you once. She saw your photos, read what you wrote and liked you back. You do not need to win her over from nothing. You need to give her a reason to keep talking and, before long, a reason to see you.
Chatting is free
Luxy says you can chat for free with all your matches. That removes the usual excuse for waiting.
Nothing costs extra, so there is no reason to let a new match sit for days before you write. Message soon after you match, while she still remembers why she liked you. A match left untouched for a week is easy to forget, on both sides.
Your first message
Open with something about her, not a generic hello. Pick one detail from her photos or what she wrote, and make a light, playful comment or question about it. Keep it short enough to read in a second.
Avoid the interview. Three factual questions in a row about her job and her hometown make her do all the work. Offer something back instead, such as a quick story, an opinion or a gentle tease. The aim of the first few messages is simple. She should enjoy the exchange and start to feel she knows who you are.
From the chat to a date
Once the conversation is warm, suggest a plan. Give it a day and a place, somewhere you can sit and talk, rather than asking whether she wants to get together sometime.
Do not try to close on her very first reply, even if it is enthusiastic. One or two more exchanges first makes the invitation feel natural rather than rushed. After that, though, get on with it. Chats that run for weeks go stale, and a plan you should have made in the first few days rarely happens later.
The whole sequence is short once you see it laid out. Pass the review, verify your photo, like the women you actually want, write soon, keep it light and suggest a specific evening. Most men who struggle on Luxy are skipping one of those steps, not failing at all of them.
