Your page disappears from other members straight away, but the full deletion takes up to two years. Muzz says that when you mark your account for deletion, it is hidden from other members immediately. Once two years have passed after your request, your photos, chats and all personal information are wiped for good from its servers. Within those two years you can restore the account. After that you cannot, and you would start again with a new one. Your matches and messages go with the account, so finish any conversation worth keeping before you start.

What happens right away

Marking the account for deletion hides it from other members at once. A woman who matched with you can no longer see it, and you stop appearing to new people.

For most men, that is the part that matters. The thing you wanted to stop, your page being in front of women, stops immediately.

What happens over two years

Muzz says it fully deletes or anonymizes your information within two years, under its Privacy Policy. It adds that anonymized transaction records stay for two years. Once those two years have passed, your page, photos, chats and all personal information are wiped for good.

During that period you can restore the account. Muzz says that after two years it cannot be restored and you would need a new account. So the window works as a safety net for a man who changes his mind, and as the answer to the question in your search: the visible effect is immediate, and the complete removal is slow.

How to delete it

Muzz describes two paths, and they do different things.

To delete only the marriage page, go to Menu, then Settings, then Manage Account, then Delete my Muzz Profile, and follow the steps. This deletes the marriage page but lets you keep using Jamaa.

To delete both Muzz and Jamaa, go to Menu, then Settings, then Manage Account, and choose Delete my account and all of my data.

Pick the one that matches what you want. A man who only means to leave Muzz should not take the second route by accident.

Cancel your subscription first

Muzz says deleting the account does not cancel a Gold subscription. If you pay for Gold, cancel it through Apple, Google Play or Stripe, whichever you used, before you delete.

This is the step that costs men money. They delete the account, assume the charge stops, and see another one a month later. Check the subscription setting in the store you paid through on the same day you delete.

Deactivate instead, if you only need a break

Muzz describes deactivating as the option to take a break. You can log back in at any time.

That suits a man who is busy, traveling or unsure. Nothing is erased, so you do not use up the two years, and you come back to the same account. Delete only when you mean to leave.

Before you go

If you are talking to a woman you like, move the conversation somewhere else first. A phone number or another messaging app keeps her reachable. a dating coach's advice on any app is to get from chat to a call and a plan quickly, since plans made only by text with someone you have never met are much more likely to fall through. A deleted account takes your chats with it.

Think about what you are leaving too. My rule is to treat each app as a test and count the results: how many conversations, how many replies, how many calls and dates. If the count was low after a fair try, look at your photos and your first message before you blame the app. Those go with you to the next one.

What to do next

If you are leaving because you got married or met someone, good. If you are leaving because Muzz did not work for you, decide whether it was the app or the page. A clear, recent photo in daylight and an honest answer to the intention questions are what a woman reads first.

If you would prefer to hand the early work to someone else, a service can build and run your online dating for you, with photos checked by hand. Whatever you choose, cancel the subscription first, pick the right delete option, and remember that your page vanishes from view at once even though the records take longer.
