Feels is a social and dating app for people under 30, and it builds each page like a story instead of a photo catalog. You scroll through other people's pages and react by tapping the heart to send a Like, or by sending a more personal DM about one piece of their content. If you Like someone and they Like you back, or if you answer their Like or DM, you get a Good Vibe and can chat.

Setting up your page

Setup asks for a set of photos or videos, answers to a few questions, and the vibe you want on the app. Feels then adds videos, captions, animated stickers and Q&A to the page, so what someone sees reads more like a short feature about you than a grid of pictures.

That structure suits a man with an actual life to show. A page that moves, with a clip of you doing something and a few specific answers, does more than a lineup of posed photos.

Likes and DMs

There are two ways to react. The heart sends a Like. A DM is a message about a specific piece of content on the page.

The DM is the stronger move, because it proves you looked. A message that says you liked her page tells her nothing. A message about the specific thing in her second clip tells her you paid attention and gives her something to answer. a dating coach makes the same point about photos: the best pictures on a page are the ones that are easy to comment on, because they turn a silent like into a conversation. A Feels DM attached to a piece of content works on the same idea.

What a Good Vibe is

A Good Vibe is Feels' version of a connection. You get one when you Like someone and they Like you back, or when you answer their Like or DM. Once you have it, you can chat.

Notice the second route. A Like that arrives from someone does not have to be matched with a Like of your own. You can answer it, which starts a chat. If a woman has reacted to you, a reply is all it takes.

The Reactions and Interests tabs

Feels gives you two lists, and they tell you different things.

The Reactions tab shows the people who sent you a Like or a DM. These are people who have already told you they are interested.

The Interests tab is more unusual. It shows people who spent time on your page or watched several of your clips but did not send a Like. That is a quieter signal. Someone read your page and did not act, which could mean she was undecided. A man who checks that tab and reacts to the people on it is going after the people closest to saying yes.

Intentions and filters

You can state what you want on your page. The options are Exclusive for something serious, Casual, Intimate, or Friendly for making friends. You can also filter by the intentions you want to see.

State the true one. A man who picks Casual while hoping for something serious wastes both people's time, and since people can filter by intention, a wrong label can keep the right ones from finding you.

What is free and what is paid

Feels is free to download and use. Free members can send Likes, get Good Vibes and start discussions. It has two paid subscriptions, Fastpass and Infinity, with extras such as seeing reactions directly in the Reaction inbox.

Do not pay first. Use the free version long enough to find out whether the people in your area use the app at all. A paid tier makes sense only after the free one has shown you that conversations are happening.

Is it worth your time?

It depends on two things you can check in a weekend. The first is your age. The app is built for people under 30, so a man over that is on the wrong app. The second is whether your area has enough people using it, and the app's own page cannot tell you that.

Treat it as a test. Make a page with a clear face video or photo and answers that say something specific. React to a fixed number of pages, send a few DMs about specific content, then count what comes back. a dating coach breaks online dating into ratios, such as how many people see you, how many react, and how many become chats. If the ratios are poor, change the photo or the answers before you decide the app is the problem.
