You sign up, build your page, then browse members, use the search options, try Discover, and send flirts. All of that works on the free Standard membership. Premium adds personalized messages, seeing who has been online and who visited your page, and exchanging contact information.

Standard and Premium

FarmersOnly has two membership plans, and Standard is free.

As a Standard member you can browse pages, use the search options, and send flirts. You also receive flirts from other members, and the site notifies you by email when someone sends you one. That is enough to test whether the site has women near you before you spend anything.

Premium is the paid plan. It adds personalized messages, sent and received. It also lets you see exactly who has been online when, see who has visited your page, and exchange contact information. Everything below works on Standard unless it says otherwise.

Build your page first

Log in and use Edit Your Profile under Profile Settings. FarmersOnly advises you to describe who you are, your lifestyle, your goals and what you want in a relationship.

Take that advice, then make it specific. "Hard working, honest, likes the outdoors" describes ten thousand men. A woman has nothing to ask about. Write what you actually do, what a normal Saturday looks like, and one detail she could be curious about. Pick photos that show you in your own surroundings, in daylight, and not three versions of the same shot.

A thin page gets ignored, and it is the cheapest thing to fix.

Search and browse

The search options narrow the member list, so use them. Looking at every page wastes an evening. Set the distance and age to a range you would honestly travel for and meet.

On a site built around one community, the number of active members near you is the whole story. Spend a few sessions browsing before you decide anything about the site.

Discover

Discover shows you photos of active members in your target age range. You like or dislike each photo to move to the next one.

A like on Discover informs the other person, and if she likes you back, both of you are told, so you can connect. A dislike is not shown to her. That makes it low risk, so be honest about who you like. Liking everyone tells you nothing about who is a good fit, and it fills your list with women you will not write to.

Flirts

A flirt is a light signal of interest. It is not a conversation.

It tells a woman you noticed her and gives her a reason to open your page. Send them to women you would genuinely like to meet, and keep the number small. A flirt sent to fifty women says nothing. A flirt sent to five, with a good page behind it, says you are choosing.

Turning a flirt into a conversation

Here is where most men lose the reply. The mechanics are easy, so the gap between a reply and silence is almost always what you write once messaging opens.

On Premium, write a first message that is short and specific. Mention something from her page, ask one easy question, and stop. A message that invites an answer beats "hi, how are you" every time. a dating coach keeps early texts short and aims for a handful of messages from the first one to her number, and each one has a job.

After a few good exchanges, suggest a coffee or a drink at a specific time and place. The site exists to put you in front of her. Do not hide behind the screen for weeks.

Is Premium worth it?

Test first. Fill in your page, browse, use Discover and send some flirts on the free plan. If women near you are active and answering, Premium is how you turn flirts into real conversations. If the area looks thin, paying will not change that.

The short version

Create your account, fill in Edit Your Profile, search with a realistic range, like only women you would meet, send a few flirts, and write short, specific messages once you have Premium. Standard is free, so use it to find out whether FarmersOnly has anyone near you before you pay.
