If you log back into the same Bumble account, your subscription should come back on its own. If an App Store purchase still isn't showing on an iPhone, go to the app's settings, tap Restore purchases, and sign in with the Apple ID you paid with. For card or Android purchases that don't reappear, Bumble asks you to contact support with your receipt and transaction ID.
Same account, new phone
Most of the time there's nothing to restore. Bumble says that if you reinstall the app or switch phones and log back into the same account, your subscription should come back by itself.
Its subscription page adds that an active plan works across devices, as long as you're logged into the same Bumble account.
So the first thing to check is the login. Make sure you're in the account you actually paid on, and not a fresh one.
Restoring an App Store purchase on iPhone
If you're definitely in your old account and an App Store purchase still isn't there, restore it from the app.
- Open the Bumble app.
- Tap the profile icon.
- Tap the gear icon to open settings.
- Scroll to Restore purchases.
- Log in to your Apple account.
Bumble says this reconnects your Apple ID with your Bumble purchases. Use the same Apple ID you paid with. If the phone is signed in to a different Apple ID, the restore has nothing to find.
Card, PayPal and Android purchases
For these, Bumble's route is support rather than the restore button. It asks you to contact its support team with two things: the email linked to your account, and proof of your subscription, meaning the receipt and transaction ID. The team then makes sure the subscription lands on the right account.
For a Google Play purchase, Bumble says the receipt goes to the email on that store account. If a paid feature still hasn't appeared, Bumble also suggests checking your purchase history in Google Play or the App Store. The payment may still be processing, or it may not have gone through.
Don't send a bank statement. Bumble says it can't accept one as proof, because a statement doesn't show the exact item you bought.
When the restore does nothing
If you tapped Restore purchases and nothing came back, run through the likely causes before you write in.
The phone may be signed in to a different Apple ID from the one you paid with. You may be logged into a different Bumble account from the one that bought the plan. Or the payment itself may still be processing, or may never have gone through, which your purchase history in the App Store will show.
If none of those explain it, contact support with the receipt screenshot, the email on your account, and your Bumble User ID. You copy the ID by double-tapping the Bumble logo at the bottom of Settings.
A new account is a different case
If you deleted your old account and made a new one, you're not restoring anymore. You're transferring.
Bumble's page on restoring purchases says the subscription was linked to the old account, so it won't move across automatically. To move it, contact support with the email address on the new account, plus your receipt and transaction ID. Bumble says it will verify the purchase and add the subscription to the new account.
Its page on managing your subscription puts it differently. It says App Store purchases are the only kind that can be restored automatically from an old account to a new one, and that other payment methods may need support. With the two pages at odds, the simple plan on an iPhone is to try Restore purchases, and to contact support if nothing comes back.
SuperSwipes and Spotlights
Add-ons work the same way. If your SuperSwipes or Spotlights haven't moved over, Bumble says to contact support. They'll transfer them to your new account.
Mention them in the same message as your subscription, so everything moves in one go.
What a reinstall won't change about your swiping
Men usually reinstall for one of two reasons: a new phone, or a fresh start after deleting the app in frustration.
The new phone is admin. Sort it and move on.
The fresh start deserves a second thought. Coming back doesn't change what a woman sees when you appear on her screen. The same first photo gets the same reaction. If your results were thin before you left, restoring your subscription just shows that same set to more women, faster.
So while you're setting the app up again, change something she'll notice. Put a different photo first, cut the two weakest, and replace any line in your bio that could belong to any man. A restored subscription is worth far more sitting on top of a set that works.
